Since September 2023, I have been engaged in characterizing particles in a water column during stratification in Lakes. This project encompasses deploying a novel camera system, developing the system, designing an image pattern recognition algorithm, and obtaining comprehensive results. Portions of this work have been presented at the European Geosciences Union (EGU) conference, with the primary findings forthcoming in upcoming publications. Yet many such datasets remain effectively inaccessible because they are not publicly shared or, more concerningly, only exist in non-digital or obsolete formats. PhD in Fisheries Science Seeking a PhD student to join my lab conducting research on fish ecology and stock assessment in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. The project will focus on understanding variation in fish body condition across communities in the Northwest Atlantic Ocean. Fish body condition, the relationship between fish weight and length, can provide information about fish health. Coherent shifts in body condition across species within a community, and across adjacent communities, can serve as an indicator of ecosystem change
