The PRIDE Endowment serves as a sustainable source of funding to advance the mission of NIPA, which is to create a more inclusive North Idaho through networking, educating, and advocating for the LGBTQIA+ community and its allies. By contributing to the PRIDE Endowment, donors can ensure ongoing support for vital programs and initiatives that uplift and empower LGBTQIA+ individuals in the region, leaving a lasting gift. The North Idaho Pride Alliance invites individuals, businesses, and organizations to join in supporting the PRIDE Endowment at the Innovia Foundation, though we ask that individuals donating smaller or frequent gifts continue to do so via Zeffy, our donation platform – for a more immediate impact. By donating to the endowment, supporters can contribute to the long-term sustainability of programs that promote equality, acceptance, and advocacy for the LGBTQIA+ community. 📢📢We raise our voices to reduce inequality. ✨✨ Each and every month, GBPI Global Black Philanthropy Initiative philanthropy focuses on different Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as defined by the United Nations. 🌐 In February, we are focusing on SDG#10: Reduced Inequalities. This is a special appeal to nations to reduce income inequalities as well as inequalities based on age, sex, disability, race, ethnicity, origin, religion, or economic or other status. As part of the goal, the inequalities among countries are also addressed and support is given for safe migration and mobility. As a result, we're making a special effort to raise funds for the nonprofit organizations and Black change-makers listed in our directory of over 130 organizations across the globe that align with SDG#10:Reduced Inequalities. 👍👍 Let us collaborate in unity to achieve the sustainable development goals. 👀👀 Now is the time and Support Black Charities is making sure that no one gets left behind, and we're counting on YOU to help! Thanks to the NH Center for Justice and Equity for highlighting our Women and Girls of Color Fund in this insightful article on empowering women and girls of color in the Granite State. Wonderful to see our longtime grantees Girls at Work, Inc. and Girls Inc. of New Hampshire featured, as well as recipients of our Women and Girls of Color Fund, including Manchester Community Action Coalition -MCAC, Victory Women of Vision, New American Scholars, Overcomers Refugee Services and more! "... Nationally, only 1.9% of all philanthropic funding goes directly to organizations serving women and girls — and for women and girls of color, that statistic is an abysmal 0.5%. For this reason, NHWF launched the Women and Girls of Color Fund in February 2022 to address the persistent inequities and systemic barriers within charitable organizations. The Fund augments NHWF’s existing grantmaking programs and provides low-barrier, faster turnaround grants to projects led by and serving women and girls of color in New Hampshire. “As the only statewide foundation focused solely on advancing equality for women and girls, we recognized the unique challenges and barriers faced by women and girls of color in their community — and that those affected by these challenges were the best positioned to lead the solutions.” — Tanna Clews, CEO of NH Women’s New Hampshire Women's Foundation Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/eXApdmPa

Reporting on the closure of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith’s foundation is fascinating 🧐 Personally, I’m not interested in the reasons why the organisation is closing and whether it is linked to the “Oscar Slap”. Although the numbers don’t lie. According to Variety, the foundation’s revenue dropped from $1,760,000 in 2020 and $2,138,660 in 2021 to $365,870 in 2022. A year-on-year drop of 83% included the departure of contributors such as American Airlines, which donated $76,160 in 2021, and CAA, which contributed $100,000 in 2021. The article focuses heavily on two small (relatively speaking) donations of $10,000 and $15,000 to organisations they can’t seem to track down and $3,304 in overdraft fees. There is little mention that the tax returns also shows donations/grants made to organisations like the Debbie Allen Dance Academy ($100,000), a nonprofit that focuses on disenfranchised Black and Latino communities, using dance and theatre training and performance to enrich, inspire and transform the lives of its students. The article also fails to mention on it’s previous tax returns the foundation gave $881,382 in grants and donations and $728,526 in 2020. I guess negativity sells…

Huge news: We're dedicating every single donation received during June to creating free LGBTQIA+ education for schools (teachers and students) around the country. Our goal: To deliver 70 free LGBTQIA+ inclusion workshops to schools, impacting 5,000 students and teachers. We think we can get there, with your donations, fundraisers, support and help. It's more vital than ever to create schools and classrooms that are supportive and LGBTQIA+ inclusive. And that means equipping both students and teachers with the knowledge to stand out against discrimination and bigotry. Whether you're donating in honour of Pride Month or the end of the financial year – your tax-deductible donation will have REAL, tangible impact for the year ahead. Help us reach our goal – every donation counts, and every donation over $2 is tax-deductible. Donate now: minus18.org.au/donate

Thanks so much to Streetlamp Creative for sponsoring this month’s chapter meeting, and to Liz Loreti for speaking to us about women in philanthropy. Here are a few takeaways: ➔ In 90% of high net-worth households, women are either the primary decision maker or an equal partner in philanthropic giving. Development teams should implement strategies that account for the potential of female funders. ➔ To address the underrepresentation of women in senior leadership positions at nonprofits, organizations should focus on providing mentorship, disrupting male-centric norms, and pushing for women to be promoted at the same rates as men. ➔ Women are often motivated by a desire to improve their communities. They tend to give more frequently and are more likely to make long-term charitable commitments. They also frequently include their children in philanthropic decision making, creating a sustainable pipeline of support. To stay on top of trends relevant to nonprofits and fundraisers, don’t miss our monthly chapter meetings. Learn more by visiting: https://bit.ly/49bCE0U
