Something I wished I did more of when I first started underwriting. Calibrating Taking time to look at the same account with my manager or teammates and see if we identified the same exposures, attached the same endorsements and priced it similarly. 3 reasons this can help you develop as an underwriter. Perspectives - increases your underwriting adaptability with future accounts Blind spots - you don't know what you don't know Consistency - make sure you're moving in the same direction as a team

Pathpoint is a high performance culture and we’ve been very fortunate to bring on more than a few superstars over the years. We have had a recent flurry of well deserved promotions that I want to take a moment to celebrate: 1. Melissa Chi joined 3 years ago, when we were 1/50th the size, to run product and carrier relationships. To help us scale and innovate on core operations as well, Melissa has stepped into the newly created COO role. We are making a bold choice to deeply couple product management, supplier relationships, and operations but given the complexities of wholesale and the need for speed and clarity at every step for our clients this is perfect way to make sure we are improving our capabilities. 2. Craig Johnson similarly joined 3 years ago as a PM and is now serving as Director of Binding Authority focused on successful digital and algorithmic underwriting partnerships with the best E&S binding platforms in the business. He will continue to work incredibly closely with our engineers, data team, and underwriters to scale this segment. 3. Olivia Reyes-Becerra was brought on by Melissa and will now serve as Director of Product to partner with engineering teams building our core experience and capabilities that make it fast and easy for agents and brokers to access E&S online. 4. Celeste Di Bartolo, AINS will join Melissa to help scale onshore operations for us as Operations Manager. Celeste joined us less than a year ago and it’s clear she’s the right leader to manage our Service team. 5. Johnston Stakely and Brian Meyers will serve as newly created Regional Directors of Underwriting, each overseeing half the country as we have now built a top tier underwriting function with national coverage. They’ll partner closely with both product and engineering to help bring better ways of doing things to market and continue our march to add capabilities outside of digital binding while integrating at a regional level working alongside Ralph Blust , Liz Dresher, AINS , and Jayne Respeliers and their teams. Johnston and Brian were early underwriters at Pathpoint — they know how to serve our carrier partners and clients and set and achieve goals and will elevate our underwriting culture. 6. Loreto Ruzzo has been supporting Pathpoint since even before I was CEO and has expanded his purview to join full time as General Counsel and Head of HR. Larry is an incredible sounding board but also the ideal outcome and detail oriented leader of compliance, legal, and company building concerns. 7. Ania G. joined just over 2 years ago to serve as CoS. Many of the core cadences that drive our culture she created. After that she helped Brian Hoover stand up our national distribution partnerships and is now joining up with Melissa to drive operations and service excellence through technology and system design in a hybrid PM/Ops role.
