Founder & CEO @ Quest Media Group | Global Chief Communications Officer | Intl. Awarded Media & Brand Strategist
As a strategy-first communications and visibility firm, my clients and industry colleagues know I have not advised to post a 5min video in today's evolving social media universe. They also know that I advise to break rules when it's worth it. 😉 Please indulge me for a moment. I recently shared my induction into #TheBOWCollective, and have received amazing support and a few questions. While it is difficult for this communications exec to articulate (right?!) what it means for Quest Media Group to be part of a sisterhood of the top 1% Black women owned businesses, this recap of our recent induction ceremony and 3rd annual conference does the job for me, and certainly answers the great questions that have been flowing my way. About BOW Collective: ⁃ Focus: capital, contracts and community ⁃ Priority: support Black women business owners to scale, create more jobs, and continue community impact ⁃ Inducted over 70 new members in February 2024 ⁃ Total collective of 200+ ⁃ 4 countries ⁃ 30 industries ⁃ 1.2 billion dollars in revenue The Bottom Line: We are poised to take action and support your large organization with varied, scalable solutions. Feel free to reach out to me to see how The BOW Collective can help solve your greatest business challenges, while making your vendor and procurement search the easiest and fastest it has ever been. Thank you to our partners MassMutual, J.P. Morgan, #AcuityEvents, HR&Co. @PotomacHospitalityGroup #PotomacHospitalityGroup, Life & Legacy Counselors, #AnswerTitle, #CoberJohnsonRomney, #GeorgeStreet, #TheMECCAGroup, #FirstFinancialGroup, #CushmanWakefield, #CultivateAdvisors, #PinnacleFinacialPartners, Paramount and Pinterest, who not only understand the vision but play a special role in it. I tip my emerald green hat to our Founder Nic Cober, Esquire for executing on your vision that is shaping a stronger America. Watch the video below for an inside look into the power of community and innovation! It's worth it. 😉 https://lnkd.in/eyPCpDud #breaktherules #theBOWcollective #businesscommunity #womensempowerment ##womenshistorymonth #womeninbusiness

When you start your own company, it's not often you get a chance to step back and reflect on it until later on in life. Entrepreneurs take the leap for many different reasons. They've found an opportunity in their marketplace. They have a passion driving them to it. They want to be a boss and control their destiny. Money. 5 years ago, two of my best friends and I decided that it was time for us to make a change and for none of the reasons above. It was about relationships and a goal to shift to balance between our work and personal lives. It starts off sounding like the opening line to a joke. A Civil Engineer/Project Manager, a Product Marketer and a Digital Marketer walk into a conference room... We had worked for another company, sharing an 8x8 office for over 5 years and LOVED working together. We all brought different perspectives from our past lives and challenged each other to think differently. We worked on the same projects and clients together helping them navigate through their own business challenges. We loved it. The average person will work over 90,000 hours in their lifetime. That is 1/3 of their entire lives. That's about the same amount of time that someone sleeps. It's an incredible (good or bad) way to look at how much time we spend here. Working together for those years, we realized that rarely do you get a chance to pick who you want to work with in your life. The three of us knew, if it was going to happen, this was our chance to do it. We wanted to work with clients (and specifically, the PEOPLE who work for those clients) that was equally important. Having our work days filled between working with friends and clients you trust and truly enjoy supporting while providing fulfilling work for 9 hours a day? That was it. We thought it would be just the three of us at Strand for a long time - and we were perfectly content with that. A year later, we hired our first employee Erin Williams - and what a hire that was. 4 years later, there are now 25 of us and we are still growing. These 5 years (albeit 2 COVID years) have gone by in a blur. I love the people we get to do it with. I love the work we get to do. I love the balance we've been able to provide ourselves to start, build and grow our individual families outside of the workplace. I want to thank Ethan Wright and Jocelyn (Hein) Uhls for taking the leap with me. I want to thank our clients for taking the leap with us as well and allowing us to support you and your own business objectives and goals. And I want to thank the team here at Strand Marketing for giving us (at least a portion of) your work life every day. I think we've said this every year, but 5 years in and we're still only getting started.
Today marks five years of Strand's journey. From humble beginnings, we've grown exponentially, winning prestigious awards and expanding our business reach. It's a journey marked by the collective efforts of an exceptional team, whose resilience and creativity have fueled our success. As we celebrate this milestone, we extend our deepest gratitude to our clients, partners, and supporters for their trust and belief in our vision. We look forward to the future, where we'll continue to push boundaries, innovate, and make a difference in our industry and beyond. Cheers to five incredible years and the opportunities that lie ahead! #strandmarketing #StrandAnniversary #FiveYearsStrong #anniversary

🌐Nonprofit Leadership & Culture Strategist | Impostor Syndrome Guru | Harnessing Stress & Mental Performance Hurdles 🧠 | Expert in Enhancing Wellbeing + Performance 📈 | Speaker | DISC & EQ Trainer | Dog Dad 🐶
We often say that, "it's the little things that make the biggest difference". Some of those little differences are: 1) truly valuing your organizational talent by supporting their need for a recharge. 2) providing a true "out-of-office" experience by redistributing work (e.g., email messages) while away 3) recognizing that the wellbeing of our talent/teams IS what drives performance for each individual AND our customers/clients. Great role-modeling Stoltz Marketing Group! 👏
If there's one person who truly knows how to get the most out of 24 hours in a day, it's our Chief Creative Officer, Kate Holgate. Kate took advantage of the Stoltz sabbatical program, awarded to employees who've been rockin' with us for 10+ years. We expected Kate to come back from her eight-week sabbatical with at least 12 new hobbies, and while she did accomplish a lot (like traveling coast-to-coast and taking guitar lessons), she learned even more about herself. Read how the time away increased her creativity, built courage, and helped our team grow stronger. We are thrilled to celebrate Amber Cooley's fifth anniversary working with Uncommon Bold! Our clients constantly rave about her quality of work and we are very lucky to have her with us. She is an absolute superstar when it comes to brand research and project management. We asked Amber a few questions to reflect on her time at Uncommon Bold so far, and these were their responses: (1) What has been your favorite part of working at Uncommon Bold? - I love working with a team full of amazing women who are supportive and genuine. My teammates feel like family and there’s a sense of camaraderie that makes every day enjoyable! (2) What do you feel has been your biggest accomplishment thus far? - My proudest accomplishment with UB has probably been leading the project management for Artists Remaking Medicine. From sourcing collaborators to coordinating between dozens of contributors to developing content for the book, I had the opportunity to showcase my creative side and simultaneously leverage my management skills in a valuable way. It was incredibly rewarding to participate in all of the strategic planning and back-end logistics that ultimately led to the creation of a beautiful (and bestselling) book! (3) What advice would you give yourself one year ago? - Prioritize work-life balance. When you make self-care a ritual, you thrive both in out of the office.

Celebrating is in our DNA at TPN, and this month we're marking the second work anniversary of COO Mark Johnson, who came to us when we merged with Evia in 2023. Anniversaries put people in a reflective mood, so we asked Mark to answer a few questions: The best part of my job at TPN? "Getting the chance to drive company strategy around our sales and servicing of technology for our customers." The worst part? "My distance from the lines of business outside of event technology. We are an incredible production agency, and there is so much that I have to learn about that side of the business. In our jobs, we are constantly prioritizing our focus, and sometimes we miss out on very cool things as a result. It’s a good problem to have." My first live event? "I was attending a play with my mom and sister and the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis, MN. It was important to my mom that I be exposed to some culture other than that of the small mining community where I grew up. I remember being absolutely mesmerized by the scale of the place. It was unlike anything I had ever seen as a small-town kid from the far northern reaches of my state, and it impacted me greatly." Passions outside of work? "When I am not working, I spend my time engaged in the lives of my daughters. Much to my dismay, they are already 11 and 13 years old and I don’t want to miss a moment. Being a girl dad is the absolute best thing ever." #team #teamwork #celebrate #anniversary #events #eventsprofs #eventprofessionals #eventplanners #eventproduction #eventtech #technology #eventcreative #TPNevents
