Brexit has proven disastrous for the UK, causing significant economic harm. A recent report reveals a £140 billion economic shrinkage, with London losing £30 billion. An Ipsos poll indicates 57% of adults see Brexit as a failure, particularly among 18-34-year-olds at 70%. Rejoining the EU remains distant, but a closer relationship with Europe is crucial for Britain's future prosperity. https://yhoo.it/3w4dhAc

Northern Ireland is leading the UK’s recovery with positive signs of growth, according to the latest PwC UK Economic Outlook. Despite post-pandemic challenges, our region is projected to achieve a 1.2% growth rate this year, tied for the highest with London. The expectation for Northern Ireland to lead other UK regions this year is an encouraging sign of continued progress. While it may be slower compared to historical standards, it demonstrates the region's ability to navigate challenges and capitalise on opportunities. While the NI economy is growing at a faster rate than most of the rest of the UK, more needs to be done to drive long-term growth, and we need to continue to encourage inward investment and accelerate support for skills and education in order to achieve that. Don't Be Fooled by Headlines: Ireland's Growth Story Stronger Than Reported Official figures show a contraction in Ireland's GDP by 3.2% last year, sparking recession fears. But our analysis paints a different picture. Here's why: Multinational Disruptions: Traditional GDP measures are skewed by the activities of large multinationals. Oxford uses a more comprehensive approach, combining 5 key metrics for a clearer picture. Our Estimate: We believe Ireland's growth in 2023 was between 3-4%, making it one of the EU's fastest-growing economies! Looking Ahead: While Ireland remains well-positioned for continued growth, we expect a more moderate pace compared to the past decade.
