A majority of the job postings I come across have 1000's of applications Poor ole candidates are left with either no responses or their cv's go unread due to a massive overload on recruiters inboxes. Missed keywords on good cv's ensure the ATS systems are filtering out the best people for the job and AI doesn't have an eye for detail; at least not yet This poses to be a terrible experience for candidates, recruiters and hiring managers Would it be beneficial if the job posters are more specific with the job descriptions they post? Or maybe clear about the candidate profile they need? On second thought, are applicants blinding applying, based on a job title and not putting in the effort to read the job post, prior to applying? It's a combination, in my opinion So many people are frustrated and have lost hope with applying to online job posts, while some do it due to lack of choice. What do many recruiters dislike when looking at resumes? Well, for now, AI written resumes. This may change as AI handles more and more recruiting tasks. But for now: "More than half (53%) of hiring managers say they have reservations about resumes that include AI-generated content, with 20% calling it a "critical issue" that might prevent them from hiring someone. "'It's extremely important that your resume is a truthful, authentic reflection of the skills and experience you bring to the table,' says Michelle Reisdorf, district director at recruitment firm Robert Half. 'If you use AI to write a resume for you in minutes, it tells me you didn't put a lot of time and thought into applying to my job.'" #AIResumes #resumetips #resumes #recruiters

There is no way to 'beat' an ATS. Because an ATS is simply the digital equivalent of a filing cabinet and some sticky notes. If I put my resume in a filing cabinet full of other resumes and I wanted to make sure a recruiter saw it, I wouldn't spend a bunch of time making sure it had some relevant words and looked pretty. I'd tell the recruiter that it was in there. The best way to surface your resume is to send a follow-up to a relevant recruiter or manager. "Hi, I came across your profile when researching X company, I am a big fan of what you are doing and have submitted a resume for Y role, I'd love to connect." Guaranteed to be a better use of your time than reading another misinformed opinion piece about how your resume is getting rejected by AI #ATS #Resume #Recruiting

I literally meet all the requirements for this role, so why am I not AT LEAST getting a phone screen? These were my exact thoughts during my 4 months of job searching after being laid off. Instead of getting angry & frustrated, I went back to the drawing board to see what features of my resume could be improved to catch the eye of recruiters & hiring managers.
