Horrific Abuse in children’s services was in the media this week - the next few weeks we will see proactivity because humans sadly work faster when in damage control. Make your policies contextual to your practice - how do you include body safety and consent into your curriculums? Have you informed families of how their children can raise concerns when at your service? What has happened is deplorable!!! It’s life shattering for the children and heart breaking for the people who love and protect them. I absolutely agree, circumstances like this must shake us to the core and demand we revisit every policy and procedure regarding safety of children. Our processes must be transparent. The ramifications of this are sector wide. It affects us all!

1yNo, this is not about the teachers teaching body safety; that's like putting a band-aid on somebody who has a heart attack. This is a much bigger STRUCTURAL ISSUE I have been flagging for years and who is listening? I hope the families and children are okay 😌
