When identity is tied to a specific job or profession and that changes, which is so much more common now, it can feel like our identity has been stripped away and the uncertainty that comes with that can feel so heavy. After being in the same field for 17 years and then changing careers three times in the last 3 years, I've learned (the hard way, of course) that no job, title, or organization, is what creates my worth and value - that's an inside job. From this point forward, that is, and will be, the bedrock from which I live.
