In this Forbes.com article by Darrell Moon, the quote above was made by a representative of a large healthcare system who acknowledged that the habits of patients were changing and that health systems were losing revenue because patients were taking their business elsewhere that provided greater value. I think he may have left out..."but still allow the health system to maximize revenue". In my opinion, under the current ownership model, hospitals will always put profits before people.
