Seasoned Event | Project Manager Crafting Exclusive Experiences for High-End Clients 10 Years of Excellence in Luxury Event | Project Management
"Navigating Awards and Credibility in Business “ Hi fellow business owners! I kindly need your honest opinions on something. I've recently received messages from over 10 organizations informing me that I've been nominated for their awards schemes. While it's flattering to be recognized, I'm skeptical about the credibility of these awards. - Have you received similar nominations? - Are these awards genuinely prestigious or just a revenue stream for the organizers? - Would accepting such an award positively impact my business, or is it just a vanity metric? How do you evaluate the credibility of awards and nominations? Do you think they truly recognize excellence or are they just a marketing ploy? Would appreciate your thoughts! #awards #credibility #businessowners #events

Award applications can help boost your business. As time passes, many of us go about running our businesses without sparing a moment to reflect on how we got here. Therefore, awards are a fantastic opportunity to celebrate our achievements, however large or small. Many people have never considered it because they just got on with their jobs and thought awards were for others - but once they finally did apply and received that recognition, it gave them a huge confidence boost. Linsey Hardy elaborates on how awards can help your business in Niche Magazine. https://lnkd.in/dy7GWcsD #ThoughtLeaders #AwardSchemes #BusinessRecognition

It's been 6 months since we won Employer of the Year at the Growing Business Awards. I'm honoured to have been asked to be on the panel of judges, helping to celebrate the UK's most outstanding entrepreneurs and high-growth businesses. The Growing Business Awards have been recognising exceptional SMEs since 1998, and it's a privilege to be part of the process. These awards celebrate achievements in areas like HR, diversity, customer loyalty, innovation, and more – all the elements that make a business truly thrive. If you're a UK SME that's been making waves over the past 12 months, I encourage you to enter. Winning can bring fantastic opportunities like: • Increased visibility and recognition in your industry • Networking with high-profile individuals • Validation for potential investors, customers, and employees • Showcasing your products and services • Boosting team morale and motivation The deadline to enter is 21st June, so don't miss your chance to shine. I've put the nomination link in the comments – best of luck to all the entrants. #GrowingBusinessAwards #BusinessGrowth #SMEs

Don’t trust the awards you see. Believe me, I know. I know of companies that got plenty of awards, only to burn down in flames a few months later. I know of companies that paid to get “that award”, just to display it on their website. So what should you trust? Nothing. Hope for the best and be miserable if you find the wrong partner. Just kidding. Ask these questions when vetting business partners: — Did they help somebody similar to me and my company? — What results do they achieve? — What’s their 90-day plan? Remember, awards are nothing if they are not backed up by a solid strategy tailored to your needs. Agreed?

MD and portfolio HR Director of the award winning HR consultancy, MAD-HR. We deliver expert-led support on all employee, performance & development issues. We help clients achieve more, faster, and more efficiently.
Since the announcement of the finalists in this year’s EADT Suffolk Business Awards, I’ve been reflecting on the unexpected insights and learnings of being on ‘that side’ of the award process. For those who don’t know, we’ve been lucky enough to be on the recipient end of a judging panel (and to have emerged victorious twice). The very practice of allowing that external assessment of yourself and your business is, as so many of you know only too well, somewhat intimidating – no matter how sure you are of your business and your experience. This time, however, and having historically won the Customer Service category in both Suffolk and Norfolk, I felt incredibly honoured to be asked to judge this particular category. Initially, I found myself thinking ‘this will be a breeze’, and that I had nothing to fear or consider. What I found, however, is that it was far more of an opportunity for self-reflection and benchmarking than I might have considered prior to taking part. How can you not be faced with an entry or a conversation from a vibrant goal-setting business, and not find yourself looking at how this compares to what you do, or how you reached this point in the journey? I’m someone who has always been of the view that a child can teach an adult as much as the adult can teach the child – and I suppose this exercise is similar. I learned from their desire, entrepreneurship and their unique approaches to managing customer interaction. My takeaways for anyone considering being a business award judge: - Do your homework on the business and seek to raise questions which are truly beneficial for your learning of them and their understanding of you. - Be self-reflective (not selfish) throughout the process, considering whether the activity leads itself to more learning and development you might require. - Embrace the chance to extend your network and relationships in directions you may never have considered. - Take time to reflect on the process with your own colleagues or peers, being sure to bring to mind particular areas which now seem evident for your own business improvement or for your chance to become active in the art of mentoring. Good luck to all of the finalists from myself and the MAD-HR Ltd team.
