On April 28th, we take a moment to remember the workers who have lost their lives due to workplace accidents, injuries, or occupational diseases. The Day of Mourning is a solemn reminder that safety should always be a top priority in all workplaces. As we reflect on the lives lost, we remember that each of these individuals had dreams, aspirations, and loved ones who mourn their absence every day. They were more than just employees, they were valued members of our workforce, and their contributions will never be forgotten. The Day of Mourning also serves as a call to action. It reminds us that we all have a responsibility to ensure the safety and well-being of ourselves and those around us. By fostering a culture of safety, implementing robust safety protocols, and providing adequate training and resources, we can prevent future tragedies and protect the lives of workers everywhere. Let us honor the fallen by prioritizing safety in everything we do. #DayofMourning #WorkplaceSafety #RememberingOurWorkers #SafetyFirst #HealthandSafety #WorkplaceWellness #HonorTheFallen

🔥 Remembering the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire 🔥 Today marks the 113th anniversary of the tragic Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire, a dark chapter in American history that unfolded on March 25, 1911, in New York City. This devastating event claimed the lives of 146 workers, predominantly young immigrant women. https://buff.ly/3TMZ97X Situated in the Asch Building in Greenwich Village, the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory became the site of horror as fire broke out on the eighth floor, swiftly engulfing the building. The appalling working conditions, overcrowding, and locked doors prevented many workers from escaping, leading to unimaginable loss of life. However, out of this tragedy emerged a rallying cry for change. The outcry sparked significant reforms in labor laws and workplace safety regulations, reshaping the landscape of labor rights in the United States. Today, as we reflect on this somber anniversary, let us honor the memory of those who perished in the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire. Their sacrifice serves as a poignant reminder of the ongoing struggle for workplace safety, labor rights, and social justice. May their legacy inspire us to continue fighting for a world where every worker is valued, protected, and empowered. #TriangleShirtwaistFire #LaborRights #NeverForget 🔥🕊️

Back by popular demand – Speed Limit Saturdays Hear me out on this one please. I am on a mission to be part of the solution to reduce accidents and fatalities on our roadways across the nation. It seems that increasingly more and more drivers are traveling well over the speed limit. Faster speeds mean more accidents as drivers have less time to react to changing road conditions. As our population increases and more cars are on the roads, excessive speeding is leading to more sad stories. My idea is that on Saturdays many of us are off of work and schools are closed. Saturday is a day that collectively Americans can begin to change our behavior. Most of us simply don’t have an excuse for speeding at all on the weekend without weekday time constraints (work, school, medical appointments, etc.). Saturday is a great day to begin changing our behavior. Let’s drive with the mindset as if the vehicles in front and around us are carrying our most precious loved ones. We all need to commit to driving safely at the speed limit on Saturdays. Then, we can move this behavior into the rest of the week. The goal is that we should always drive at the posted speed limit to ensure that we all arrive at our destinations safely for every trip. So, please join me (on the road 😊) this Saturday, June 15, 2024. Please have a safe weekend. Eric Coming soon: No Tailgate Tuesdays 😊 https://lnkd.in/e99hUKq4
