The ICCA UK&Ireland chapter are champions. Not just because they launched into a diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) session with passion at 9am, kicking off outside in a brisk temperature, but because the chapter demonstrated that they are champions of DEI. Uncomfortable conversations were had. Honest discussions took place. Opinions were respectfully debated and real stories of challenge and success were shared, all in a safe environment where judgment didn't enter. Thank you to the inspiring panelists, Rachael Molyneux, Holly Patrick, Gordon Dow, and Samantha Shamkh for their insights, experiences, and advice. We must 'speak about' inclusion before we can 'speak up' for inclusion. Before we can advocate and educate, we must first understand. 𝐈𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞, 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤? Recurring Revenue Model Strategist | Challenger Sales | Excuses are tools of the incompetent | Changing the Narrative for Diverse Owned Business one program at a time | A100+ | i2v
📢 Important Update & Call to Action! 🚀 Last week, I had the privilege of attending a critical webinar hosted by the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) discussing the recent Federal District Court ruling in Texas concerning the Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA). With NMSDC CEO Ying McGuire and distinguished panelists like Alphonso David, Damon Hewitt, and Sarah Von Der Lippe, we dove deep into the implications of this decision for minority business enterprises (MBEs). 🔍 Key Takeaways: • The court recognized the discrimination faced by minority-owned businesses in credit and federal contracting yet struck down remedies designed to address these disparities. • This ruling affects only one federal statute and agency, not impacting local, state, or private sector diversity initiatives. 🌍 This moment serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing challenges in our journey toward equality. The attacks on programs designed to help minority businesses aren’t just isolated incidents; they’re part of a broader, systematic effort to roll back the gains made through decades of advocacy and hard work. 💼 What Can We Do? 1. Corporations: Now is the time to double down on your commitments to supplier and business diversity. 2. MBEs: Share your stories of discrimination and resilience. Your voice is crucial in building a case for these essential programs. 3. Everyone: Support local and state disparity studies to help ensure programs are built on solid empirical foundations. 🤝 Let’s stand together in this critical time to support the MBDA, our regional centers, and the vibrant community of MBEs and corporate members fighting against discrimination and pushing for real growth. #Diversity #Inclusion #MBE #NMSDC #BusinessDevelopment #Leadership

ACCP has a long history of maintaining a warm and welcoming environment that creates a safe space for its members and event attendees. The society’s commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable environment is reflected in a new video from the ACCP Inclusivity, Diversity & Equity (IDE) Committee. The video explains clearly ACCP’s expectations of appropriate professional conduct; however, should an incident occur, the video provides guidance on the definition of a reportable incident and the process by which an incident should be reported. The video emphasizes the importance of following specific guidelines when reporting incidents, underscoring ACCP's commitment to transparency and accountability. By focusing on the guidelines for reporting incidents, ACCP aims to ensure a prompt and effective response to concerns, ultimately contributing to the establishment of a safe and supportive environment for all members of the society and the global ACCP community. https://lnkd.in/ebfGR49T

In a world where trust in institutions is increasingly fragile, we believe in the necessity of a research center that places the interests of the community at the heart of its activities. Our mission is to forge connections, nurture #dialogue, and foster understanding across diverse communities. We are dedicated to conducting research that not only addresses global challenges, but also prioritizes the needs of the people. Have you heard❓ This year's DCA Debate topic and moderator have been announced! We're thrilled to share that this year we will have renowned Australian journalist, Patricia Karvelas, as moderator for our 2024 debate which promises lively discussion and valuable insights. ✨ This year, we ask: Is polarisation holding diversity and inclusion back? In an increasingly polarised world, where it seems there is more to divide us than unite us, what does it take to move the dial on diversity and inclusion? Are our divisions impeding progress towards genuine equality? Or do they ignite a sense of urgency and a drive for change? We'll touch on key issues including outrage, backlash, the moveable middle and the challenges of social reform. Become a sponsor of this year's Debate and elevate your organisation's commitment to diversity and inclusion. There are a range of benefits to sponsoring, including branding and being profiled in promotions, as well as importantly, publicly demonstrating your organisation’s commitment to D&I to your employees, stakeholders, customers and clients.
