Today, New Era Capital Group and our largest portfolio company, Astute, reached a significant milestone. We stood at the NYSE ready to take 'AT' public, a notable achievement for any company. After thorough deliberation, we decided to remain private. Our commitment extends beyond wealth creation; it encompasses nurturing a rich network of innovative, private investments that thrive on autonomy and strategic growth. This decision allows us to maintain control over our ventures, free from the short-term pressures of public markets. In an era where major tech companies continue to iterate on the same products year over year, true innovation requires a unique approach. As a private entity, our profits are determined by the real, tangible value we create for our stakeholders and the groundbreaking advancements we support. At New Era Capital Group we believe our strength lies in our discretion and our ability to invest in technologies that disrupt, not replicate. We choose strategic growth over conventional success and invite our network to continue this journey with us, shaping a future where ours and your childrens collective vision dictates our path. #NewEraCapital #PrivateWealth #InnovationOverIteration

Private Equity in 2024: Navigating Trends and Transformation As we step into 2024, the private equity landscape is set for a dynamic journey, shaped by a tapestry of trends and transformations. According to Ropes & Gray LLP, the industry, though navigating headwinds in 2023, remains optimistic about the opportunities presented by market volatility. Private equity investors maintain a positive outlook, leveraging market volatility to deploy capital creatively. Despite challenges such as rising interest rates and geopolitical uncertainties, the anticipation is for a surge in deal volume as we approach 2025. 1. Valuation Challenges Persist: The gap between seller and buyer expectations on valuation continues to be a prevalent theme. Seller-friendly terms and high exit multiples will shape the landscape, influencing the launch and timeline of auction processes. 2. Co-investments Take Center Stage: With increased costs for debt financing, private equity buyers emphasize their ability to underwrite purchase prices. Co-investments will play a critical role in tapping into additional capital, enabling investors to target larger deals. 3. AI's Expanding Role: Ernst & Young Global Consulting Services forecasts an expansion of artificial intelligence (AI) use in 2024, moving beyond automating back-office functions to enterprise-scale platforms. The technology will transform due diligence, LP requests, and reporting, driving a large-scale industry-wide transformation. 4. Strategic and Operational Focus: In a market where exit opportunities are slower than historical averages, private equity firms will emphasize strategic and operational improvements. The focus will be on finding the balance between cost-cutting and fueling future growth to prepare for improvements in the exit market. In the midst of these trends, Aruwa Capital Management remains steadfast in its commitment to gender lens investing. Even as we look towards Fund II, we are resolute in our mission to create impact and drive diversity in the entrepreneurial space. The ball isn't dropping; it's gaining momentum. Join us on this transformative journey. #privateequity2024 #investmenttrends #aiinprivateequity #infrastructureinvestment #genderlensinvesting #aruwainnovates

Navigating the world of finance requires stepping out of our comfort zones and embracing calculated risks. Comfortable investments, like safe bonds or well-established blue-chip stocks, might offer stability but often yield lower returns. To achieve significant gains, we must explore less familiar territories—emerging markets, innovative startups, or disruptive technologies. These opportunities, while potentially more volatile, can lead to substantial growth and rewards. Embracing discomfort allows us to diversify our portfolios, capitalize on under-the-radar opportunities, and ultimately build wealth. Remember, true financial success lies in balancing risk and reward. Let’s challenge ourselves to think beyond the conventional and seek out those high-potential investments. #Investing #InvestmentStrategy #FinancialPlanning #Wealth

After years of Big Tech’s grip on global equities, seismic shifts in the financial and “real” worlds have renewed interest in quality value investing. Is the market ready to “awaken the sleeping giants?” J O Hambro Capital Management’s Ben Leyland and Robert Lancastle think so. The duo recently stopped by AssetTV for an in-depth conversation about the transition from tech to unlocking new parts of the market, such as time-tested industrials, driving much of the growth rates. Watch the show to learn what Ben and Robert believe is behind the pendulum swing — and how investing in underappreciated companies could spell higher returns for investors on the horizon. https://ow.ly/x4xg50Ss5Ro

#JPM2024 is well behind us and we are still digesting the themes that will paint the picture for the rest of the year. Leading up to meeting, we knew 2023 was a tough year for funding and this year looks more optimistic but may remain tough particularly for smaller biotech as investors seek safer bets. Drawing from my extensive experiences spanning big pharma to biotech startups, I've seen first-hand the unique challenges faced by organizations of all sizes – which can be more acute for startups and smaller companies. In a small yet dynamic company like Melinta Therapeutics, sustainability demands intentional and focused efforts, and requires that we keep our People First strategy, front, and center. There are two key strategies, tailored for small companies, I recommend to help proactively address and navigate potential funding or resource challenges: Strategic Investment Prioritization: Don’t put your eggs in one basket. Smaller companies thrive when there's a strategic balance in investments across existing, new, and future brands. This ensures efficient resource allocation, maximizing impact and potential returns. Building Resilient Teams: The sweet spot for ROI lies in a people-centric approach. Beyond strategy, a people-centric philosophy sustains and propels small companies forward. At Melinta, we recognize that our work is about more than building brands; it's about fostering a resilient and empowered team. This is most critical in lean times. Investing in the team through training, development, and new opportunities not only enhances individual skills and employee retention but also cultivates a resilient and empowered workforce. Every investment in people, regardless of company size, pays dividends in innovation, growth, and lasting impact. By adopting a strategic and adaptive approach, small companies can increase resilience and position themselves for success in the face of economic uncertainties. #SmallBusinessStrategies #FinancialResilience #2024Predictions #StrategicAdaptation

2 strange observations at the end of 2023 ➡ 1) Wrong people getting investment? In recent years, an investment in any new “hot” area caused a FOMO rush as investors all piled into finding opportunities in that area. This year has been different. There have been noteworthy investments, but they have not been followed by investments in similar companies. It really seems to be a winner-takes-all year. Do you think the right companies were the winners? ➡ 2) Good news in December? Several companies I am advising received positive responses from investors in December. This is even before they have kicked off 2024 fundraising formally. Does this mean that it could be game over for others already? Has 2023 been different from previous years? Do you have predictions for 2024? --- o0o --- 🖐🏻 I am Raymond. I help founders build more investable companies. Do you want to: ➡ avoid unnecessary pain? ➡ look great to your investors? ➡ shave time off due diligence? ➡ close the deal? ➡ get back to growing your business? 📞 If you would like to chat, please reach out. #invest #scaleup #exit
