GRAMMAR POINTS
COLLECTIVE NOUNS
A collective noun is a special type of noun that refers to a group of people, animals, things, or ideas. They are different from plural nouns, which show more than one noun. Collective nouns are singular nouns that describe a collection of nouns.
Some common collective nouns are “bunch,” “team,” and “flock”.
A team is a group of players.
A flock is a group of sheep or turkeys.
We have collective nouns for people, animals and things/objects.

⏺ Verb agreement with collective nouns:
In British English, collective nouns can be followed by a singular or plural verb depending on whether the group is thought of as one idea, or as many individuals.
For example,
My team is winning.
The other team are all sitting down.
In American English, collective nouns are always followed by a singular verb, so an American would usually say:
Which team is losing?
Whereas in British English both plural and singular forms of the verb are possible, as in:
Which team is/are losing?
.
.
.
I hope you got value from this. I would like to hear from you in the comments section.

I hold a degree in animal management, yet my current job is unrelated to animals. I've accepted that I may never utilize my degree professionally, aside from my weekly volunteer work at a primate sanctuary. Nevertheless, my education has imparted valuable knowledge, as well as a way of life.
Always be kind, always be compassionate, and always check your shoes for number two.
Just because your degree isn't being used in a professional manner, doesn't mean it was a waste of time and resources. It took me a while to understand and appreciate this, but better late than never!

Managing Human-Big Cat Conflict in Uttar Pradesh: Challenges and Opportunities
🌿🐅🐆
Did you know that #UttarPradesh's diverse landscape shelters a plethora of #bigcats?
From the majestic #tiger to the elusive #leopard, the state's forests are home to an incredible array of #carnivores.
But it's not all sunshine and rainbows. #Humanbigcatconflicts poses a significant challenge, especially in places like #Dudhwa and #Pilibhit#TigerReserve. Nevertheless, there's hope on the horizon!
Meet Mr. Prem Pandey Ji, a passionate sociologist dedicated to mitigating these conflicts for the past two decades. His innovative work on a #communityintegration model is paving the way for co-existence between humans and wildlife. During the time I spent with him, we collaborated with numerous specialists in managing Human-Big Cat Conflict in UP, and I feel fortunate to have gained insight into how the #communityengagement model stands out as an effective approach in conflict resolution from him.
Check out the insightful YouTube series he's spearheading with '#JungleTelecast'. Featuring interviews with #biologist, #experts, #frontlineforeststaff, and #veterinarians, who are all truly facing the challenges and delicately working towards harmony between humans and big cats.
This video provides valuable insights into the hurdles and strategies involved in managing human-big cat conflicts, as experienced by Dr. Utkarsh Shukla (Deputy Director, Lucknow Zoo), who has dedicated decades to addressing these conflicts in #UttarPradesh. My collaboration with him in various conflict operations has also been a key learning aspect of my time in UP.
I encourage you to participate in the discussion between Mr. Pandey Ji and Dr. Utkarsh Shukla Ji.
Watch, follow, and share these talks to spread awareness and support the cause of wildlife conservation.
Together, we can make a difference!
