Rugby Player Convicted and Fined $2500 for Speedboat Stunt Endangering Birds 🏉🚤🐦 Click on the link to watch the video https://lnkd.in/geJW7KKx In a controversial case, rugby player and content creator Matt Jurlina faced conviction and a $2500 fine for recklessly driving a powerboat into a flock of endangered birds. The incident, posted on Instagram with boastful captions, raised concerns about wildlife conservation. Despite arguing that a conviction might harm his rugby career, the judge rejected Jurlina's request, emphasizing the gross disregard for wildlife. The video, depicting the speedboat charging through the birds, played a crucial role in the conviction, emphasizing the importance of deterrence for such offenses. #WildlifeProtection #RugbyPlayer #EnvironmentalConservation Disclaimer: This information has been sourced from the website of NZHERALD. Check out https://lnkd.in/dRszEakY for more on trail riding safety and training. Training your horse for a trail ride should always include getting ready for the unexpected. Wildlife is a common surprise encounter when you're riding horseback that can startle your horse and quickly become a dangerous situation if you're not prepared. Horse training in the arena is a great place to start. You can introduce props and domesticated animals which can help desensitize your horse to real wildlife dangers when trail riding. These tips for staying safe on the trail can help keep you, the rider, and your horse out of harm's way. #horsetraining #horses #trailriding #wildlifeanimals #horsesafety

Pickleball Courts, a 350 room resort, glamping cabins, golf courses, etc. Sounds great, right? What if I told you this was all going to be constructed in our Florida State Parks? The “Keep Florida Wild” parks that are meant to provide visitors an immersive experience in the natural flora and fauna? These construction projects within our state parks will have serious impact on the very natural resources that make them special. There are 9 proposals to 9 state parks to add these unnecessary amenities, and at what cost? At the cost of the ecosystem that is supposed to be protected. We are already at max capacity in these campsites, so why do we need to destroy more land to make room for recreational activities? Hiking, biking, swimming, kayaking should all do the trick. Don’t add in NINE pickleball courts. 🙄 Want to help put a stop to this? Visit https://lnkd.in/eMqs6gGq to learn more and make your voice heard.

!!! PLEASE DON'T CARVE THE HEART OUT OF BIGWIND !!! Tell Ontario by May 4th @ https://lnkd.in/ggrU6sRX The Ontario government is proposing to operationalize Bigwind Lake Provincial Park in Bracebridge, putting numerous at-risk species and sensitive habitats in grave danger. The proposed infrastructure includes 250 campsites, paved roads, maintenance facilities, food services, and associated hydro lines and sewer systems that will imperil and undermine the ecological integrity of the already small and peaceful park. Bigwind Lake Provincial Park is a natural environment class park. Natural environment class parks are meant to protect recreational landscapes, representative ecosystems and provincially significant elements of Ontario’s natural and cultural heritage and "provide high-quality outdoor recreational and educational experiences." Currently, Bigwind provides low-impact recreational opportunities to hike, canoe, and fish, while protecting the habitat of 14 species at risk (8 of special concern, 3 threatened, and 3 endangered). Bigwind is dominated by mature (100- to 130-year-old) Sugar Maple, Yellow Birch, American Beech, Eastern Hemlock and Eastern White Pine, that provide a home to a rich diversity of flora and fauna existing beneath its canopy. Critically, this habitat provides refuge to the threatened Algonquin Wolf, who had been brought to a point of extinction on account of historical hunting and trapping. Extensive wetland habitat also creates a challenge for cataloguing a large number of the plant species expected to be present in the park, which speaks to Ontario's admission that there is a shortage of information on species. The proposal itself states that there is potential for increased road mortality, habitat loss and fragmentation, increased light and noise pollution, and wildlife habituation, which is the the loss of a natural fear of humans. These "potential" pressures make no progress in reaching the 30x30 plan to protect at least 30% of terrestrial and marine areas by 2030. The deadline for public comments is Saturday, May 4th. Please consider using your voice and sharing this information to help protect our family on this planet. The Bigwind Lake Provincial Park Preliminary Management Plan can be found at this link: https://lnkd.in/gPgB8DKg With gratitude, x Summer 🌐💌
