Here's an inspiring part of my message given last weekend at the Isla Mae Summer Retreat in Jacksonville, FL. I love peaking to women who are overcoming a variety of challenges in life. I am so grateful for the opportunity to minister while living with cancer. Here are some reflection questions that went with this portion of my talk: We’re so focused on the future that we don’t realize that today was what we prayed for years ago. What did you wish for as a little girl when you pictured your future? What was your 10-year plan when you were 25? How have things turned out? What do you want to happen in the next 20 years?? How are you investing your time while you wait for your prayers to be answered?

I love and appreciate this! It is a complex and emotional experience when taking care of a parent who is terminally ill. It's easy to forget about oneself and become overwhelmed by the responsibilities and feelings that come with caregiving. However, it is possible to find strength by returning to one's core values and identity. Returning to core values can be a grounding force in difficult times. Focusing on the commitment to family, resilience in the face of adversity, or unwavering compassion can offer comfort and strength. Returning to one's core can also provide a sense of purpose and meaning when caring for a terminally ill parent. Focusing on acts of love and support can reignite a sense of purpose, which is critical to staying in the moment and dealing with letting someone you love dearly go. #mom #pancreaticcancer #caregiving #family #love #selfcare #ballet #school
Caregivers are an essential part of the care team for every person who has cancer, and that experience can often be difficult and stressful. But who we are as people does not change when we become caregivers, says Dr. Allison J. Applebaum, Ph.D., a psychologist and the founding director of the Caregiver's Clinic at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Dr. Applebaum's own experience while caring for her father taught her how to reconnect with herself in ways she'd forgotten (hint: 🩰). Watch the full video to hear more about how to navigate caregiving and grief.

Every child deserves a future filled with golden moments joy, whether that is learning to ride a bike, experiencing their first day at school, or enjoying sleepovers with friends. 🌟 However, cancer is stealing these precious moments away from too many children. The harsh reality is that every week in the UK, two families receive the devastating news that their child has neuroblastoma. This rare and often aggressive cancer not only claims young lives but also subjects children to gruelling treatments that can affect them well into adulthood. We believe in #AFutureTheyDeserve. To turn this belief into reality, we are dedicated to funding ground breaking research that can lead to more effective treatments. Our mission is clear: we must improve treatment options and ultimately find a cure. Together, we can give these brave children the future they deserve. 🎗️ To learn more about how you can support Neuroblastoma UK this September, from going gold to sharing our message visit: https://lnkd.in/dQccQtG3

This is your friendly reminder to confront that fear and begin sharing your message & solutions of what your service can do for others. 🗣️ I had a client in my content mentorship group who was a coach that helped women regain strength and confidence after battling cancer. 🖤 She was also a 2x survivor but, her fear of looking crazy was holding her back. I have an aunt that's beat 4 stage cancer also, so it hits home deep for me with this. We did these three things with her in depth: ✍️ We found out where the fear was stemming from. ✍️ We encouraged her through exercises to be herself ✍️ We gave her tips to visualize helping and not helping her ideal clients. Did it work? Yes! Was it easy? No! Was it worth it? YES! What do you feel is holding you back from really sharing your message? #instagramcontenttips #instagramcontenthacks #coachdrewcost #contentcreation #marketingtips #headachelesscontent #contenttips
