How does biodegradable sealing work? After last week's presentation of Bentofix® Green as an innovative biodegradable sealing from a roll, today we explain how it works. 🌱 💯 Once the Bentofix® Green bentonite mat (GCL/geosynthetic clay liner) has been installed and poured over, the bentonite begins to swell under the influence of moisture and forms a homogeneous sealing layer. Bentonite has the ability to automatically reseal penetrations or dry cracks so that a permanent sealing effect is achieved. The biodegradable carrier and cover materials are manufactured by Naue on the basis of cellulose or PLA. Both raw materials are biodegradable but have different properties in terms of their behaviour.
