We’ve talked about our solution, BioBlack TX, but it’s time we highlight our problem: carbon black. 🔑 Key Points: - Carbon black is a fine, black powder that is produced by burning coal tar, vegetable matter, or petroleum products. - The cost of using carbon black as a pigment & in our everyday products? It contains carcinogens called Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs). And results in millions of tons of CO2 emissions during its manufacturing process. It creates a step towards moving away from petrochemicals in black pigments for inks, cosmetics, food packaging, textiles, paints, automotive and more. BioBlack TX and BioBlack DP are water-based pigment dispersions that incorporate our proprietary black pigment made from 100% recycled wood waste from FSC® certified sources.
