A study conducted at California State University, Fresno by Logan Cecelia-Rose Real & Dr. Kyle Thompson, examined the effects of feeding Galaxis Frontier, a blend of native rumen microbes, to Holstein dairy cows during the close-up period. The research revealed that cows receiving Galaxis Frontier produced more colostrum with a higher fat content compared to a control group, without reducing the total amount of IgG. These findings indicate that Galaxis Frontier could be a valuable addition to dairy cow diets during the transition period, enhancing both colostrum quantity and quality. Read more about how Galaxis Frontier can optimize the colostrum quality of your herd in our most recent blog post here: https://lnkd.in/gye55yAm

"To any dairyman not using Galaxis Frontier, I'd tell them to give it a try. We've seen ROI on it and the trials have been very repeatable with a lot of data behind it." – Brian Visser, Bar 20 Dairy Manager. At Native Microbials, we let our results speak for themselves. Explore the dynamic landscape of the alternative protein industry with The Good Food Institute's interactive global map! ➡️ https://ecosystem.gfi.org/. 🗺️ The ecosystem map is a new resource that allows users to easily visualise and interact with geographical “hot spots” of activity in our sector worldwide, from Singapore to Seoul to Sydney. This resource aims to equip people across the change-making continuum—including students, scientists, policymakers, donors, investors, and companies—to learn about, explore, and meaningfully connect with clusters of activity in their region of interest. 📍 If you are an alt protein company or researcher wanting to be added to the map, submit through our “Add a Pin” button in the upper-right-hand corner of the map: https://ecosystem.gfi.org/. We like being inspired by other fields. A huge concept in microbiome analyses are (bio)diversity analyses. We think this is an underappreciated aspect of glycomes. So get ready for the mature get_biodiversity function in v1.3, which compares groups of samples as to their alpha diversity ("are glycans in group B more diverse than in group A?") and beta diversity ("does the distribution of glycans change between conditions?"). Both in pairwise comparisons as well as in multi-group settings. Both full sequences and extracted motifs/substructures. Since both the third anniversary of glycowork as well as its v1.3 update are fast approaching, I'll slowly share some of the upcoming highlights that'll be in v1.3 over the coming weeks (to avoid losing them all in the changelog:D; v1.3 is going to be biiig) [a note for the sake of completeness: you can always use these features in the developer's version already]

2024 will bring about a lot of changes in the alt protein industry. I think we'll see more LCA's conducted, a growing food tech ecosystem that includes a range of products including cacao and coffee, more focus on health claims, and a consolidation of products on store shelves. Check out these predictions and my expert colleague's takes in GFI's 2024 trend predictions.
Each of us at GFI operates from a unique vantage point across the alternative protein sector and is well-suited to catalyze meaningful change in the areas that will have the most impact. In our latest blog, we asked 9 of our experts to reflect on what may be in store for 2024 across the alt protein industry, science, and policy spaces. See what they had to say ⤵ Thank you Jessica Almy, Laine Clark, Elliot Swartz, Marika Azoff, Matt Hotze, Tessa Hale, Adam Leman Ph.D., Audrey Spence, Liz Specht for sharing your excellent insights!
