Governor Jon Husted; National Skills Coalition's Jeannine LaPrad; and Ohio Business Roundtable CEO & past Congressman Pat Tiberi next week during a The Council of State Governments' Midwest panel discussion. 🎓Our session is titled, "Chair’s Initiative Panel: Advancing Innovation, Building State Workforces," and will cover myriad challenges related to labor shortages and workforce participation, including the importance of public-private partnerships, the impact of #automation and advanced #technology in the #workplace, and the need to mitigate barriers that reduce labor force participation. The session will conclude with a video message from Columbus entrepreneur and restaurateur Cameron Mitchell. 🏛The CSG Midwest focuses on meeting the needs of state policymakers and leaders in the nation’s heartland, including 11 Midwestern states: #Illinois, #Indiana, #Iowa, #Kansas, #Michigan, #Minnesota, #Nebraska, #NorthDakota, #Ohio, #SouthDakota and #Wisconsin. In addition, four Canadian provinces — Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario and Saskatchewan — are members or affiliate members of CSG Midwest’s Midwestern Legislative Conference. Each of these regions are at the heart of opportunity - and risks - to better align #technology and #talent development for #economicgrowth and #mobility. I'm excited to share research and ideas we've been incubating and advancing through New America's Future of Work & Innovation Economy initiative.
