I am pleased to announce that my recent paper on the digital transformation journey of Linn Products Ltd has been published in Research-Technology Management (RTM) Journal. It was a pleasure to collaborate with Aylin Ates and Professor Donald MacLean on this project. Our paper explores the strategic alignment within a VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, Ambiguous) environment and provides an example of how Linn Products successfully implemented a digital transformation process in a high-tech organization. We argue that organizational fitness, which underpins the digital transformation process, is essential for realigning organizational capabilities with business strategies, especially in a VUCA context, to maintain competitiveness. As the competitive landscape continuously evolves, we emphasize that achieving this alignment requires ongoing efforts and progression in the digital transformation journey—from being merely digitalized to becoming fully digitally transformed—rather than isolated initiatives.
