#Leonardo's Board of Directors, convened today under the Chairmanship of Stefano Pontecorvo, examined and unanimously approved 2024 first half results. "The first half results show double-digit growth across all KPIs. In recent months, we have also achieved significant goals in strengthening international alliances by taking an active role in promoting European Defence. The agreement with Rheinmetall represents a unique opportunity for the development of the new generation of land defence systems," Roberto Cingolani, Leonardo CEO and GM, stated. "The consolidation of the core defence business continues thanks to the acceleration of the digitalisation process and the rationalisation of the portfolio with the sale of Underwater Armaments & Systems, which gives further impetus to the collaboration between Leonardo and Fincantieri, and the exit from non-core businesses such as IIA and Skydweller. The creation of the new Space Division positions Leonardo in rapidly growing market segments, while targeted acquisitions will strengthen the Cybersecurity business. The efficiency plan is fully operational, with results exceeding expectations. All this confirms our clear direction of travel in line with the objectives of the Industrial Plan," concluded Cingolani. https://lnkd.in/d-Cmiv6i #LDO_PR #LDO_IR

In a TV interview with Bloomberg News, Roberto Cingolani, CEO and General Manager of #Leonardo, examines the prospects of European Defence, underlines the need for greater integration among industry players in the Aerospace, Defence & Security sector to meet global competitiveness and ensure security at the European level. In this scenario, Leonardo must play a leading role in developing a common strategy for major investment programmes. According to Roberto Cingolani, Leonardo "must act as a catalyst" to bring forces together at the European level, creating a common Defence arena. To achieve this, he highlighted the importance of reducing the fragmentation of investments across multiple platforms and working towards joint ventures on important supranational programmes. The CEO outlined Leonardo's prospects for the near future, including the upcoming launch of the new Industrial Plan. "Fast and technological" is the company's priority to remain at the forefront of strategic decisions at the European level, especially concerning alliances in land defence, #GCAP, and #Space programmes. The biggest challenge, as emphasised by Roberto Cingolani, is keeping pace with the technological transformation brought about by digitalisation throughout the Defence sector. https://lnkd.in/dbCaDaNy

Our team is at the Defence24 Days event in Warsaw, Poland this week, a country of immense strategic importance to us, as we establish our European Production Hub in Gdansk later this year. About speaking at the event, our Richard Coomber said: “Galvion has been at the forefront of imagining the possibilities of integrated systems and is a part of forward-looking programs with Tier 1 customers in the U.S. and the UK. We started this 15 years ago, really buying into the idea that helmets were about to move from a protective product, something that just sits there and passively defeats projectiles, to something that's survivable, something that allows you to see in the dark, to communicate, to identify yourself to friendly forces, to integrate modern capabilities like head-up displays, sensors, emitters, and computation on the helmet, towards every soldier becoming a true sensor node. These enhancements will exponentially increase the soldier’s survivability and lethality and therefore mission success. Today, we are seeing this vision become a reality, and we are excited to have the opportunity to discuss these important topics at Defence24 Days.” L-R in this photo: Dean Boston, Alex Hooper, Richard Coomber, Robin Barnett, Peter S. I was honored to be part of the Defense Innovation Forum 2023 in a panel session on hybrid communications for the benefit of armed forces in operation. A great opportunity to highlight the role of trusted operator that Eutelsat OneWeb plays within the French and European space ecosystem, under the remarkable moderation of Olivier Ondet from Thales, and with the participants in this panel session: ➡ ICETA Olivier Habart from the DGA - Direction générale de l'armement, ➡ Philippe Devillard from Airbus Defence and Space, ➡ Pascal Saubion from Orange Business. We were able to discuss the paradigm shift brought by the LEO-GEO-5G hybridisation and the new mode of controlling these services via a disruptive SVNO (Satellite Virtual Network Operator) approach. #ForumInnovationDéfense #connectivity#space#satellites#LEO#GEO#5G#SVNO
