Today is R U OK? Day Let's shine a light on mental health in rural Australia, where access to services is often limited and suicide rates are higher than in urban areas. Reach out and ask someone you know in these communities, "Are you okay?" WHY IT MATTERS 👇 Rural life has unique challenges that can impact mental well-being. Your simple check-in could be the support someone needs today. HOW TO HELP 👇 Ask: "Are you okay?" to start a conversation. Listen: without judgment. Follow Up: Keep the conversation going. Together, we can break the stigma and strengthen our communities. Let's acknowledge that mental health is not a fad term—it's a real and vital aspect of well-being. Including it as a disability on workplace questionnaires may inadvertently perpetuate stigma. Instead, let's focus on fostering supportive environments where everyone feels valued. Action speaks louder than discrimination. #mentalhealthmatters #letstalk

Mental health matters. This #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth, let's talk numbers: 1 in 20 U.S. adults experience serious mental illness each year. That's a significant portion of our population! But there's hope: 65.4% with serious mental illness received treatment in 2021. ✨The issue? For youth, the numbers are even higher. 1 in 6 have a mental health condition, yet only half get the help they need. ✨Why it matters: These numbers are on the rise. Early access to care can make a big difference. Let's break the stigma and encourage open conversations. ️ What you can do: 🫂 Check on friends and family. You never know who might be struggling. Share resources! There's free or low-cost help available. Be kind - you might be the light someone needs. #mentalhealth #mentalhealthawareness #youarenotalone

Everyone can play a role in creating real change for #mentalhealth. As we approach the 14th annual Bell Let's Talk awareness campaign, it’s a good reminder to nurture our mental health and well-being on a daily basis. There are incredible mental health organizations out there to help. One of my favorites’ is Kids Help Phone, a long-time partner of Bell, who offers free professional counselling by phone or text 24/7 and who have helped so many young people in its 33 years of existence. Let’s kick off a year of action together to create real change. #BellLetsTalk #mentalhealth #realchange
