Reflecting on my 16 years at TechTarget, one of the most rewarding aspects of my journey so far has been the incredible friendships I've made along the way. These relationships have been a key reason for my long tenure here. Today, I have the privilege of leading a team of sales professionals who are more than just colleagues—they are like family. Our team is a close-knit group who will drop anything to help one another out. This camaraderie not only makes our work more enjoyable but also significantly enhances our productivity and success. Here’s why building friendships with the people you work with is so vital: Enhanced Job Satisfaction: Working with friends turns daily tasks into meaningful experiences. Sharing our victories and challenges with trusted colleagues makes every day at work something to look forward to. Improved Collaboration: Strong personal bonds foster trust and open communication. This makes collaboration more effective and helps us achieve our goals together. Emotional Support: The workplace can be demanding, but having friends who understand and support you can provide much-needed emotional relief. A simple conversation with a friend at work can alleviate stress and boost morale. Professional Growth: Friends at work often become mentors and sources of inspiration. They offer guidance, share insights, and help us navigate our career paths more effectively. In essence, the friendships I’ve built at TechTarget have been foundational to creating a supportive and successful work environment. Building these relationships has been key to fostering a culture of teamwork and mutual growth. Here’s to many more years of friendship and success! #WorkplaceCulture #ProfessionalRelationships #CareerGrowth #Teamwork #JobSatisfaction Mary Kate Scannell Pamela Barros Dustin Hayes Madeline Klimm Jesse Robinson Alex Wallner James Flynn Connor Bradley Kyle Brown 🟢 Brian McGovern Alex Chitarra Tyler Gronski Jerod Magazine Ariele Pappalimberis Sam Walker Jon Waszak Ryan Whitman Benjamin Corrado Julia Galvin Charlie Stahley Luke Hicks Michael Coogan Tim Haverty Meghan Smith

As the first week of January is coming to a close, I've been reflecting on the past year and setting some professional resolutions for 2024. I'm sharing a few with this community in hopes that it inspires someone else to do the same - celebrate your accomplishments, and embrace your upcoming opportunities! Reflections 🧠 Knowledge Sharing: I had my first in person speaking opportunity at CEMA-Corporate Event Marketing Association Summit on Supercharging Event ROI. So grateful for the chance to share my thoughts, and to collaborate with the brilliant Lena Stahlschmidt 💼 Job Changes: I started at Riskified just about one year ago after my first ever layoff. This was definitely a nerve-wracking moment in my career, and I'm so grateful to Storycraft Lab for giving me the opportunity to work with and learn from them between my full time roles Resolutions 📢 Speak More, Listen More: I'm definitely looking for more opportunities for knowledge sharing through speaking at events and webinars, and posting on Linkedin more. I'm also looking to allocate more time this year to listening and learning, there are so many important voices with valuable insights to share ⏰ Slow Down...But Speed Up: I know I'm not alone in this one...it's so easy to jump from event to event since our plates are beyond full, but some of the best learning comes from post event debriefs. I'm still working on the mindset shift from hurry up and check off the box of "post-event sales enablement and marketing debrief complete" to truly taking a moment and letting feedback sink in. Pushing the pressure of a busy event portfolio to the side for a few minutes in order to truly embrace these learnings is definitely a challenge. Anyone know how to slow down a clock?! TOP Takeaway Just for fun, here is arguably the most important thing I'm taking away from my 2023 learnings 🏆 Small Events at Big Conferences: Standing out at a conference with a booth doesn't usually work anymore, unless you're creating a unique experience at it (and have a large footprint). This is creating a shift for the investment strategy in many companies at conferences they may have attended repeatedly. Smaller side events with more intentional invitations have proven much more successful- bonus points if it's community building and not just sales oriented What are your reflections & resolutions?

Hi friends! With the announcement of my new career services business, Kylie Michele Careers I wanted to talk about my vision, the inspiration behind the company and what it can do for you! For years I have negotiated with and built teams for some of the world’s top product and design leaders across companies like Airbnb, Reddit, Inc., Atlassian and Ironclad. For a while, being able to bring in women, Black, brown and disabled folks gave me my purpose. It showed me that I could have an amazing career while also bringing some good to the world. But at the end of the day, recruiters are on the company’s team - not yours. Now, the best recruiters are absolutely on your team, but we are pressured by recruiting leadership to churn and work at a pace that’s untenable. When I got laid off from Reddit after doing some of the best work of my life rebuilding their entire UX recruiting organization, it killed me. I had incredibly strong performance, I had made a huge difference to the company and I was working with really talented people. But that’s the nature of capitalism and recruiting. The thought of going back into recruiting during this nightmare market, where recruiters are either out of work or worked to the bone, sounded awful. I’m tired. I’ve done 5 years straight of hyper growth and the pace was killing me. So I decided to get out of the tech rat race. I decided to take a bet on myself, and use my knowledge and expertise and almost decade of experience recruiting to bring that knowledge to you. With companies making record profits and using the excuse of “it’s just business” when they are laying you off, taking away your source of income, livelihood - well then, in my opinion, it’s just business to enable workers as much as we possibly can. My programs and 1:1 strategic sessions are focused on that - giving the power back to you. Enabling you to take as much money from corporations to make sure you thrive. They are certainly doing that for themselves, why not you? Let’s rewrite the narrative. If tech is backed up by full HR teams, lawyers, finance teams, etc., why wouldn’t you deserve to be fully enabled too? I promise you, having a recruiter that knows the ins and outs of finance teams, hiring mangers, interview processes, will absolutely ensure you get a higher income, better titles and a full optimized career. You deserve it <3 Tell me in the comments what you want to know from a former recruiter that knows all the ins and outs of the business and check out my programs below; https://lnkd.in/gNYHVUEa

The coffee shop networking this week has been top notch. Was thrilled to reconnect with Amanda Connell; we worked together a million moons ago when I was at the Times Square Alliance and she was putting together NY startup events and making that community hum in the early days. Since then, she's become a true #Strategy maven (she's also on the hunt after leaving a long and successful tenure at Cisco, check her out if you need someone to literally transform your organization and drive real scalable #operationalefficiency - the woman can make $$$$x off a single spreadsheet). Connecting with Amanda was a conversation in the benefit of bringing folks into an organization that can tackle a myriad of thorny tasks. Both her and I pride ourselves in our #generalist backgrounds, having had long careers where we said "yes" quite often and were able to gain skills across a wide breadth of disciplines. These days, I see a lot of folks looking for increased specialization - which is amazing, and there's always a need - but generalists can reach across departments and bring people together, they can truly bridge cross-functionally and close communication gaps and siloes. And tackle all the tasks. I believe a great team should have a healthy mix of specialists and generalists. That's the perfect sweet spot. I know job hunting is daunting, but being able to have these inspiring chats, and leaning on one another for support has really opened me up. Changing the perspective to the positive has been such a valuable lesson. For my fellow job searchers, what have been your silver linings? #opentowork #generalists #strategy #operationsleaders #marketingleaders

Headhunter - I will hunt YOU down and get YOU the job YOU deserve | Talent Advisor Recruiter | Reverse Recruiter and Job Search Strategist | Human Resources Coordinator | People Operations Specialist
Farewell, but Not Goodbye Sometimes, endings pave the way for beautiful beginnings. Today, I bid farewell to my incredible tenure at NewGlobe and BayelsaPRIME. After 15 months, while our journey together concludes in December 2023 (as I've just been made aware of), the memories and lessons learned will remain etched in my heart. Building alongside this phenomenal team and changing the narratives about public education has been an unparalleled adventure. We laughed, we strategized, we celebrated (and consoled), and most importantly, we discovered the magic of finding the perfect match. Together, we attracted phenomenal talent that fueled the company's growth, and for that, I'll forever be proud. This decision, while bittersweet, is purely a strategic shift on the company's end, and in no way reflects on my passion or expertise as a talent acquisition specialist. In fact, it ignites a renewed fire within me to dive deeper into this field I adore. So, here's 🥂 to the late-night brainstorming sessions, the shared high-fives on successful hires, and the unwavering support system we built. Your unwavering dedication and infectious enthusiasm continue to inspire me. Now, my eyes sparkle with the thrill of chasing new horizons. The landscape of possibilities beckons, and I'm ready to weave my talent acquisition magic in a new chapter. If you know of an organization seeking a seasoned talent acquisition strategist with a heart of gold and a mind brimming with innovative ideas, let's connect! This isn't a goodbye, but a "see you soon" disguised as an exciting cliffhanger. The best is yet to come, and I can't wait to share it with you all – the dream team that made this journey worth every single moment. #TalentAcquisition #NewBeginnings #OpenToOpportunities #opentowork #socialsaturday #CheersToTheDreamTeam

Placing the very best senior level search professionals with New York City's most prestigious executive search firms
This week I celebrated my 5 year anniversary at R2R Global and naturally it gave me a chance to reflect on my time in the world of recruitment to recruitment. In our Monday morning sales meeting our Global MD Matthew Gostelow asked me for one piece of advice that I’d give our team after 5 years in the business and nearly 10 years in the industry as a whole. There are more than a few lessons I can share and endless war stories but the biggest piece of advice I would give someone starting out in the recruitment industry is to never be afraid of feeling uncomfortable! Embrace it. Take on scary new challenges because that’s when you grow the most both professionally and personally. I joined R2R right at the start as the firm’s third hire and I’ve watched the business grow into a team of 30 placing candidates all around the world. I spearheaded the launch and growth of a brand new business in R2R NYC, built multiple practices from scratch on both sides of the Atlantic and have trained and developed teams of exceptional people. Every time I’ve tried something new, there’s always been that feeling of anxiety and nervousness that comes with taking on any big challenge. But what I can say is it’s been an incredible journey over the last 5 years. We’ve never shied away from taking risks and definitely haven’t stayed within our comfort zone! And whilst there’s always going to be ups and downs, I’m so glad we’ve taken those risks because we wouldn’t be where we are today without doing so. So that’s my one piece of advice after a decade in the industry – get comfortable feeling uncomfortable!
