Volumetric Testimony of Margot Friedländer! 🎬
Margot Friedländer was the first witness we recorded for a #documentary film series using #VolumetricCapture, opening a new dimension in commemorative work. She immediately agreed to participate in the innovative project, eager to continue serving as a witness beyond her lifetime and to be both a reminder and a role model for future generations. "It is particularly important that young people know what happened back then. It is not for us, it is for you, that I tell this story – as a warning. Because you must ensure that it never happens again," says the Berliner.
While traditional documentation of historical events and interviews with witnesses have primarily relied on two-dimensional content, the era of volumetric capture technology has already begun. 🎥
In addition to Margot Friedländer, other witnesses have also been recorded. These recordings will be accessible exclusively for non-commercial projects in #education and commemorative work, utilizing interviews with innovative #immersive media forms to contribute to forward-looking educational and commemorative efforts. The archive aims to provide future generations with the authentic three-dimensional experience of witness testimonies.
The project, realized in collaboration with Filmuniversität Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF, Christian Zipfel, has already resulted in two #VR experiences: "For Real?" („In Echt?“) and "The Lost Time" („Die wenige Zeit“).
