Greg Tull's foundation is built on his Christian faith, but his experiences taught him to question and refine his beliefs without abandoning his core values. For example, Greg addresses the belief he was raised with that Christians need to dominate the culture and government in order to be effective.

"Our biggest mistake is our failure to make Christianity and democracy as meaningful for the Negro as it is for the white. The most insidious form of subversive activity in this country is not that of the communists but that done by those who wrap themselves in the American flag and give the lie to American freedom." — Fr. Louis J. Twomey, S.J., May 20, 1962. Visit my Kickstarter to learn more about this amazing Jesuit and support the biography I am writing of him: https://lnkd.in/egu2PR6n .

The Master's University Chancellor Dr. John MacArthur sat down this week to discuss his new book, "The War on Children," with @realDailyWire's Ben Shapiro. The conversation covers the role biblical morality has played in shaping United States history and culture, Christ as the only way to salvation, the role of politics in the Christian life, and more. "So, as we learn more and more about the saints who have gone before us in Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Texas, we do so neither to idealize nor to demonize anyone," writes James S. Currie in this edition of Making History Today, "but rather with a keen sense of gratitude for their faith, their call to discipleship, and the many and varied ways they have shaped us." New Post: The Challenge of Faith and Good Citizenship in 2024 Editor’s Note: Last week I wrote about the challenges I see in responding to the threat White Christian Nationalism presents to our democracy. This week, a friend and retired Lutheran pastor Mark Docken, provides a thoughtful explanation of why understanding and responding to Christian Nationalism is complex and important. https://buff.ly/3Z0KCJ5

Some of the most powerful voices against Christian Nationalism belong to Christian leaders who know best why the theocratic political movement is a threat not only to American democracy but to the witness of the church as well. There is a lot of energy and activism out there, and it’s being led by a broad coalition of Christians, non-Christians and nonreligious activists. Standing shoulder to shoulder, we’re going to give Christian Nationalists what they most fear: a united force of Americans from all walks of life who are determined to defend our democracy and its cherished principles, notably the separation of church and state. https://lnkd.in/dc-sgrMm

If the narrative that self-determination is less important than the suffering caused by conflict were widely accepted, then accepting this narrative could contribute to a form of historical amnesia, where the lessons learned from past struggles for freedom are forgotten. The collective memory of resistance against slavery, colonialism, and other forms of oppression serves as a reminder of the importance of self-determination and the need to challenge unjust systems. Ignoring these lessons risks repeating history, as new generations may be denied the opportunity to learn from the past and advocate for their rights.

What does it mean to be truly patriotic in America today? As we grapple with the definitions of American patriotism and Christian nationalism, we must ask ourselves if our current path aligns with the values of true liberty and freedom.

Great share as always Ọládélé Dosunmu. Whose HIStory is being told? For those professing "Allyship" kindly explore, the narrative we have been fed to undermine people of colour for centuries. Then speak up and out on our behalf to assist in a meaningful sustainable change process. Remember, the story told by the hunter, is very different from that of the prey. If we are to really ever have: Equity, Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity. Then, we need to have real uncomfortable conversations. We need to allot meaningful, time, money, effort and the willingness to reset one's mind to basic natural and moral laws. Where critical thinking involves the use of the mind, heart, gut and faith walk. Moreover, we need to be willing to be open to conduct role reversal exercises. This will enable us to really see the level of systemic and institutional racism very much alive today. EDI, requires a quantum paradigm shift. Commencing in the mindset and altering : attitude, behaviours, conduct and lifestyle choices. Have you ever, taken the time to ponder. Why are people including children and elderly people around the world being paid literally peanut income for back breaking work in hazardous working conditions from morning till night, with poor sanitation, no health and safety standards, no advocacy, living in 'accommodation' not fit for human habitation. Yet, their blood, sweat and tears... props up the lifestyle of the global South and other "advanced", countries. Why is environmental racism occuring, where waste is being dumped in poor countries, causing toxic conditions, impacting those people's lives. Where is the EDI, Human Rights in all of this? It is also important to highlight, that we need to appreciate that as we evolve into an Artificial Intelligence, machine learning age. Racist algorithmic profiling is a real risk! So if EDI, really will exist in a pure form. Then work has to commence now! As a professional community, your engagement may connect with policy makers who have the power to make a positive difference. So get involved. I would love to hear your views.. Remember that action.. Speaks volumes. #Artificial #machinelearning #equality #BritishEmpire
Passionate about seeing the Alkebulan of my dream emerge. I am unapologetically African. We are building the Emerging Alkebulan. Titles don't matter. Disrupting the status quo. Thought provoker. Pan African to the core.
Don't turn a blind eye to the true history of the empire. We must acknowledge the impact it had on our ancestors and our continent. While George the best declined an honour, many of us are willing to accept it just to be accepted and acknowledged in the hegemonic systems. "Don't allow them to use you to whitewash the empire" profound words. If we don't respect ourselves no one will respect us. Let's rise, Alkebulans, and demand the dignity and self-respect we deserve. #HistoryMatters #Oladelesthoughts #SelfRespect #Dignity #Alkebulan
