During my recent visit to Doha, Qatar, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the bus-to-metro station transportation was free of charge. What's more impressive is that all the transit buses are electric. This highlights the growth of the electric vehicle industry across the globe. The Ministry of #Transportation in #Qatar has taken a proactive approach towards sustainable transportation. They have announced plans to convert 35% of their fleet's total cars and 100% of their public transportation buses to electric. This is a commendable step towards reducing carbon emissions significantly. Such initiatives are an indication of the need for sustainable practices in the transportation industry and the importance of countries' role in adopting environmentally friendly transportation alternatives. Overall, this is a remarkable development and an excellent example of how public transportation can be used to reduce a city's carbon footprint. It is hoped that more countries will follow Qatar's lead in their efforts to transition to sustainable transportation.

Saudi Arabia is likely to cut billions of dollars in spending on some of its biggest development projects, and place other plans on hold, as the kingdom grapples with the scale of its vast economic makeover. A government committee led by the de facto Saudi ruler, Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman, is close to completing a sweeping review of mega projects including the sprawling desert development known as Neom, people familiar with the matter said, asking not to be identified as the information is private. Neom, which is being developed on the Red Sea coast, is expected to be allocated 20% less than its targeted budget for this year, the people said. Its plans to launch a new airline for the area are on hold, they said.
