Had a great conversation with Joe Suardi, PHR from RK Industries. While we focused on the trades, any company can relate to the challenges he talked about: "And then we also have this new generation where for every one person coming in, five people are leaving." Sound familiar? One of the things that RK Industries is doing that really caught my attention was their long-term mentorship program. They hire workers right out of high school or community college and give them $250 worth of tools. They also pay for 75% of their associate's degree and partner them with a mentor to help learn the real-world skills they need. Check it out, there's a couple more really good ideas he shares on how to attract and retain talent in any industry.
