Another successful Ecogen installation! How does Ecogen work? Ecogen is a truck-driven generator powered via the engine drive Power Take Off (PTO) which can make an otherwise, dirty diesel transport refrigeration unit (TRU) into a clean hybrid electric-powered refrigeration unit during transit. This can reduce carbon, diesel particulate matter (DPM), N0x and costs*. If you operate a Scania, Volvo or Renault tractor unit they already have the timing gear in the engine for a PRO. Alternatively, you can specify for a PTO with a new tractor unit.
