Thank you to Scientific American for giving me the opportunity to discuss the need for (and benefits of) engineering education to its audience. My op-ed, "We Should Engineer Better Learning in Our Schools," can be read here: https://lnkd.in/ezeA8G4S... #STEMEd #STEM #engineering #teachers #STEMLearning #oped #STEMcurriculum #STEAM #scienceeducation

My daughter wanted so badly to take engineering classes in high school to see if she liked the field, but they weren't offered at our school (only at, coincidentally, the high schools in much wealthier neighborhoods). Fortunately, she kept at it and is a mech engineer today, but the learning need (and gap) continues!
What does the “E” in stEm stand for? It means learning engineering. “E” helps kids to solve real world problems using real world data and hands on learning. Thanks Christine Cunningham
considering I came from a long line of engineers in my family, but in school was told engineering was for boys...yes, we definitely do.
Love this article Christine Cunningham, and I'm very excited to check YES out! I'd love to touch base and learn more about what else you guys are up to!
Insightful!
Great article! A lot of what you discussed is crucial, especially educating K-12 students in *all* STEM disciplines. The future of tech is emerging now, so getting young minds acclimated to the tech at the early stages of their learning is an essential foundation. We love hearing from individuals like yourself who see the tide shifting and are advocating for changes that will only benefit our youth and our society. Thanks for sharing!
