Moms are speaking up — is your organization ACTUALLY listening? Alongside Superkin partner Paula Faris & CARRY Media™ , we're working with organizations to develop cultures, policies and benefits that attract and retain not just working moms — but CAREGIVERS in the workplace. (Because we promise you — it’s not just moms who want flexibility.) As nearly 3 in 4 employees have caregiving responsibilities, support at work for this cohort is no longer a nice-to-have but business critical in 2024. I love what Paula said, "Moms want REAL flexibility. This looks like being evaluated for the job they do...not when and where they do it." 👏 Interested in learning more about how we can partner together? 📩 Send me a message! #workingmoms #workingparents #CHRO #HRbenefits #culture #caregivers

This article is one of the best things I have read in a long time. As someone who has been absorbed through life into the world of caregiving for parents and children, birthwork, and individuals with disabilities, this vibrated in my soul. We know better now, so let's do better for new parents, for older adults and those caring for them, and for individuals with disabilities. It is one of the best things I have read in a long time.
What do sidewalk ramps have to do with caregiver benefits in the workplace? 🤔 It turns out that the urbanist concept of the “Curb-Cut Effect” provides a handy analogy for how businesses should think about supporting caregivers. Read more on the Cleo blog here:

The AARP headline for this new report, "New U.S. Workforce Report: Nearly 70% of Family Caregivers Report Difficulty Balancing Career and Caregiving Responsibilities, Spurring Long-Term Impacts to U.S. Economy," is jarring and should raise concern about maintaining a stable economy as well as the health and well-being of the nation's family caregivers. For those working caregivers who work full or part-time and then return home to full-time caregiving duties during their "time off", the five day work week is a myth. ARCH would encourage employers, who want to support their caregiving employees to stay in the workforce and be productive, to consider providing a respite care benefit to their caregiving employees. They deserve and desperately need to experience "time off" just like their non-caregiving peers. Yet respite is never mentioned or recommended as an employee benefit. The documented benefits of respite care to reduced caregiver stress should not be overlooked. #RAISErespite
