Today, and every other day, I advocate for a focus on enhancing healthcare efficiencies → improving the quality of the air we breathe → the water we drink → and the environments we inhabit.
These areas CAN and should achieve significant advancements in public health.
Health should be about enhancing life → not redefining it through extreme measures. Our priority must remain to extend life quality through sustainable and ethical practices → not chasing the spectres of a Frankensteinian future.
Let's channel our resources and ingenuity into making the world a healthier place for all rather than crossing boundaries that challenge the very fabric of nature.
What are your thoughts on the future direction of medical innovations: should we redefine the limits or focus on foundational improvements for a healthier tomorrow?
Discover how SPHERE is driving innovation in aged care technology with the project, "Understanding reception of care technology for healthy ageing at home."
As our population ages, the demand for in-home care rises. To meet this challenge, we're leveraging technology to enhance independence and safety for ageing individuals.
Led by Chief Investigator Professor Jason Prior, this project brings together expertise from three Platforms (Healthy Populations and Environment, Implementation Science and Knowledge Translation), as well as the Age and Ageing Theme and SPHERE Partner, South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD). But that's not all! This collaborative effort is further enhanced with external collaborators and supporters, including the UTS Institute for Sustainable Futures, NSW Smart Sensing Network, University of Newcastle FASTlab, the Central Coast Research Institute (CCRI), and UNSW Tyree Foundation Institute of Health Engineering.
Our goal? To ensure technology meets the needs of end-users and enhances their quality of life. By conducting surveys, analysis, and workshops, we're paving the way for real-world trials and informing policy changes for the future.

🗳️Don’t miss your chance to cast your vote for SXSW 2025!
In true “democratizing the imagination of the future” fashion (which you can learn about at one of my proposed panels, detailed below), the people have a say in whether my future-oriented panels will be on the agenda for SXSW’s March 2025 conference. Community input is a major deciding factor for the conference producers, so whether you’re planning to attend the conference or not, please take a few moments to vote for my panels! You can express interest in as many sessions as you’d like before August 18th.
🟣Boldly Reimagining the Future of Health:

Futures thinking is for everyone! At RWJF my team and I have been supporting and working with some amazing futurists from a wide range of backgrounds. They are using unique tools and experiences to create the time, space, and expertise for everyone to imagine healthier, more equitable futures. In this panel, we’ll talk about what the Foundation has learned about democratizing the imagination of the future, why it’s important, and how YOU can try this in your own work.
🟣Share your Hunch to Change the World:
https://lnkd.in/eBPB5NJs
Hosting hunch jams—where I bring folks from any and all backgrounds together to share their hunches about the future—is one of my favorite parts of my job. In this session, I hope to hunch alongside SXSW participants, who may just have a unique idea on how we can transform health within our lifetime. Let’s share our hunches together!

"As long as it remains invisible, it is guaranteed to remain insoluble." - Margaret Heffernan 🌟
At Visible Network Labs, we are driven by the conviction that visibility is the precursor to transformation. In the complex webs of community and health networks, many essential connections remain unseen, and as a result, underutilized or misunderstood.
Our mission is to illuminate these vital connections with our innovative tools like PARTNER CPRM, enabling organizations to see and strengthen the invisible ties that can transform outcomes. By making the invisible visible, we empower communities, health professionals, and organizations to develop solutions that were once deemed insoluble.
Let's shed light on the unseen. Together, we can solve the complex challenges that impact our communities and move towards a healthier, more connected world. 🌍✨
