Stimulation of wells إنعاش الابار
It is the process of restoring vitality to the wells, and this is done in several ways, including:
1_ Acidizing
2_ Fracturing stratification
3_ Perforation
Acid zing
It is the protection of pumping an amount of acid into the well in order to interact with the rocks, dissolve them and increase their permeability.
There are two types of acidification:
1_ Matrix acid zing
It is an acidification process with pressure less than the cracking pressure of the layer. Where the surface area exposed to the acid in this process is very large, and thus the reaction period is short, which makes the effect of the acid on the rocks that are located a few feet from the well little.
2_ Fracturing Acid zing
It is the process of acidifying the layer with a pressure higher than the cracking pressure.
Citrus types:
1_ HYDRAULIC ACID HCL
2_ hydrofluoric acid HF
3_ acetic acid CH3COOH
4_ Formic acid HCOOH
5_ sulfanic acid NH2SO2OH
Specifications of the acid used in the acidification process:
1_ Low cost.
2_ It is widely available.
3_ The degree of toxicity is low.
4_ interacts with the required materials.
5_ It does not leave undissolved sediment in the reservoir.
6_ Not to mix it with oil.
7_ It does not interact with the pipes and equipment used (by adding an anti-corrosion substance).
Some notes about the acids used:
1_ HF acid is not used in carbonate rocks because it generates insoluble sediments in the reservoir, which leads to flow dam. It is only used in sandy rocks because it interacts with them
2_ HCL is less strong than HF and is used in carbonate rocks and is not used in sandy rocks. his focus be
28% concentrated and 15% diluted.
A- The concentrate is used if we want a good cleaning and if the layer is damaged.
B_ The thinner is used if the layer is clean and the percentage of damage is low.
Many materials are used with acids, including.
1_ corrosion inhibitor
The benefit of it is to prevent the pipes and equipment used from corrosion, and it is used at a rate of 1%
2_ Emulsifier (soap)
The benefit of it is to prevent the emulsification of oil with water as a result of the interaction of the acid with the rocks, by reducing the surface tension and using it at a rate of 1%.
acidification process
1_ Evaluate the productivity of the well before the acidification process by measuring the internal flow pressure and the production rate.
2_ Injecting the well by pushing the acid through the production pipeline (after closing the annular field), thus returning the oil in the well to the rocky layers.
3_ Displacing the acid with gas oil through the production pipeline and the annular field so that no amount of acid remains inside the well cavity.
4_ Waiting for a certain period of time for the acid to interact with the rocks.
5_ The well is cleaned through production from the well through the production pipeline and the annular field.
