𝙌𝙪𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙪𝙢 𝙀𝙧𝙧𝙤𝙧 𝘾𝙤𝙧𝙧𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 If you are experienced with bosonic/GKP codes or photonic/LDPC codes, decoders, or experimental QEC experience. 𝙉𝙖𝙣𝙤𝙛𝙖𝙗𝙧𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 I am expecting a few senior roles to arise from our clients working with all different quantum architectures whether it be superconducting, photonic, or any other. There are some unwritten rules between quantum computing companies in some areas, that they don’t poach staff members from each other. It’s a small community, everyone knows each other, best not to step on each other’s toes. I largely agree with the sentiment, I think it makes sense. I believe there's a significant oversight in the current hiring practices of Quantum companies, particularly their tendency to prioritise Masters and PhD students. While it's undeniable that these individuals possess invaluable knowledge and expertise, it's crucial to recognise the potential of Bachelor's students who are equally passionate about the field. There's a strong bias favouring Master's and PhD students, especially in software roles, ignoring that hardware skills are often needed for advanced studies. But with free learning resources on quantum computing booming, everyone has a shot, levelling the playing field. Bachelor's students may not always be suited for hardware-centric positions, but they frequently excel in software-related roles. By exclusively favouring Master's and PhD candidates, the industry is inadvertently limiting its talent pool and delaying the integration of fresh perspectives. Fortunately, I had the privilege of being recognised for my skills by Artificial Brain, an organisation that saw beyond traditional qualifications. It's my hope that the industry reevaluates its hiring criteria to embrace the diverse talent available and facilitate a more inclusive environment for all aspiring quantum professionals. #quantum #quantumcomputing #hiring
