Groundwork Ohio is excited to share The Family Voices Project Report. Parenting is difficult and Ohio’s families are experiencing stress as they navigate many barriers to support their children and themselves. ‼️Nearly 1 in 3 respondents reported experiencing high stress related to parenting. ‼️Most parents (95%) are working and 27% of single parent reported working more than 1 job. ‼️Almost 60% of respondents felt that their current child care was not affordable. These barriers limit access to quality health care and early learning experiences for their children, who have increasing unmet behavioral and developmental needs. ‼️More than 1 in 3 respondents reported difficulty finding child care. ‼️Nearly 1 in 5 parents reporting missing a well child check up and 20% of parents reported their child was not able to access timely care when they were sick. ‼️More than 40% of respondents reported that they had concerns about their child’s development and almost half expressed concerns with their child’s behavior. The US Senate Special Committee on Aging recently held a hearing focusing on Assisted Living. The full hearing is available here: https://lnkd.in/e6zJ4CSz Following the expert testimony, the Senators are looking for feedback from citizens who have had a loved one at an assisted living, either currently or in the past. They are asking for experiences, specifically: What has/had your experience been as a family member/ those paying the Assisted Living facility bill? What promises (of care, etc.) were made by the facility and are/were these being upheld?
