It has been two years since Roe v. Wade was overturned by the Supreme Court. At the #MomsFirstSummit, Alexis McGill Johnson), President and CEO of Planned Parenthood Federation of America, shared the story of a mother's journey across Georgia, South Carolina, Florida, and California in search of abortion care in a post-Roe U.S. The patient eventually received the care she needed, but the mental, physical, and financial obstacles should never have existed. According to 2019 data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 60% of women seeking abortions already have one child, and until the essential right to choose to become a mother is restored in this county we will continue to hear stories just like this one. On the anniversary of Dobbs we're fighting for a nation where every single individual has the freedom to make choices about their own bodies and futures.

In a profession dedicated to providing hope to others, it's essential to find personal sources of inspiration. Positive changes, like Ohio striking down abortion mandates, serve as beacons of hope. Despite the noise, the numbers are in favor of positive change. Communities coming together, individuals putting aside differences for a common goal — these are the building blocks of hope. Where have you experienced hope in your communities lately? I'd love to hear about it. Today marks two years since Roe v. Wade was overturned. Now, several MPs in Canada from the Conservative Party are trying to follow suit. Let’s be clear: my body is not your political playground. Every person with a uterus deserves the right to make decisions about their own healthcare, including the right to an abortion. We must protect the mothers and children being forced into unspeakable situations in places like Palestine and Sudan. Their suffering is a stark reminder of what happens when reproductive rights are stripped away. Our bodies are not for your taking, not for your political games. Abortion is not a political issue; it’s healthcare. Protecting reproductive rights means protecting our future generation. Stand up, speak out, and make sure our voices are heard. #MyBodyMyChoice #HealthcareIsARight #womensstrike2024 #transrightsarehumanrights🌈 #womanrights

Most aborttions are done as birth control so this rape and incest bs is just emotions entering into an argument where they don’t belong. Let’s see some stats on the number of abortions performed for rape and incest. .0001% is my bet. End of the day, you don’t legislate morality. This is a moral issue. I am against abortion and I am against the government getting involved. I prefer my government to be on the right side of morality but we lost that battle decades ago. Leave the decision with the states so that our country can have the illusion of morality. Like we have the illusion of self governance and the illusion of personal and health safety. Our whole damn system is an illusion anyway.
Can someone share with Joe Biden. Kamala Harris and all the other top Democrats it's probably not a great idea to keep crying about Roe Vs Wade being a 51 year law of the land. It was entirely based on a lie. It's now in the hands of each state as it should have been to begin with regarding Abortions. Oh, and the lie they all keep saying that women can't get an abortion even in cases of the mother's health (possibly dying while giving birth), incest or being raped, that too to simply not true in any state. Share this video far and wide.

Today, we mark what should have been the 51st anniversary of Roe v. Wade, a pivotal moment when our nation recognized abortion as essential health care and a fundamental right. Yet, we find ourselves in a time where this right is under threat, challenging the very fabric of our freedom and personal autonomy. Abortion is health care. It is a decision that should be respected, safe, and accessible to all, regardless of one's zip code, income, or identity. #SIECUS stands firmly in the belief that everyone deserves the freedom to make choices about their own bodies, lives, and futures without fear or interference. On this day, let's recommit to the fight for reproductive justice. Let's honor the progress made and confront the challenges ahead with unwavering resolve. Our collective action is crucial. Together, we can uphold the right to safe and accessible abortion care for every person. Because when we say every person, we mean every person. #Roe51 #AbortionIsHealthcare #ReproductiveJustice #FreedomToChoose

Today at 4:00 p.m., the Florida Supreme Court is deliberating on the pro-abortion amendment seeking a spot on the November ballot. The Justices hold the power to decide whether our voices will be drowned out by deceit and manipulation, or whether we will stand strong in the face of tyranny. Let us pray that they see through the lies and uphold the integrity of our democratic process. The future of future generations, and our future, depends on it. The mere mention of the phrase "as determined by the patient's healthcare provider" in the amendment evokes a feeling of unease and uncertainty. It leaves us, as voters, questioning who exactly holds the power to decide on the viability of a late-term abortion. However, the ambiguity of the term "healthcare provider" within the amendment leaves room for interpretation. As it stands, individuals such as athletic trainers, mental health counselors, dietitians, and even abortion clinic staff could potentially be categorized as healthcare providers. This opens the door for even third-trimester abortions to be approved. The lives and well-being of both the mother and the unborn child, are at stake. Our voices must be heard, for the sake of those who cannot speak for themselves. Our voices must be heard, and our rights protected. Let us stand together and demand transparency and honesty in our political process. The future of our constitution and our society depends on it. ♥️🙏🏽 Like, Comment, Share and Save this post so more people will see it! Help us spread the word! Cavity Samantha and the court Drew Goins published a neat synopsis of a new rendition of an old game as imagined by @Alexandra Petri of WAPO. How to play Operation: Post-Roe — as the court plays with women’s health! You, a doctor, consider the situation: Patient is experiencing a ruptured amniotic sac, or severe preeclampsia. The procedure is medically necessary. There is no other option. It is the only way to stabilize the patient/pregnant woman. You begin to operate. BZZZZZ! Game over! Nice try, but you forgot to check whether saving a pregnant woman’s life is allowed in your state! Listening to oral arguments on Wednesday for the Supreme Court case Idaho v. United States — concerning whether federal law can require hospitals to perform emergency abortions in states with bans — Alexandra Petri saw fit to update America’s favorite hospital board game for certain realities after the 2022 Dobbs decision stripped the federal right to an abortion. The fun-ectomized version of the game has brand-new “state legislator” and “vintage law from 1864” cards, as well as the inevitable involvement of other unsavories, such as Justice Samuel Alito Q: Actually, I have a question about the inclusion of Justice Samuel Alito as an unavoidable character in this game. Why? A: What game isn’t more fun with the inclusion of Justice Samuel Alito? (The author of the Dobbs decision) making trenchant comments such as: "the hospital must try to eliminate any immediate threat to the child, but performing an abortion is antithetical to that duty.” Q: Why does my Justice Alito shout “Stop, Doctor! We must weigh the competing interests of Cavity Samantha against those of the unborn child!” in situations where doing so would be totally senseless — i.e., emergency situations where because of pregnancy complications, the loss of the fetus is inevitable but the loss of the life of the person carrying that fetus is not? A: Ah, you’re again making the mistake of thinking your Cavity Samantha is a person. That’s why we wrote “ONLY A PERSON SOMETIMES” on the box in big red letters. Doctors keep forgetting that, and then they lose the game — and their licenses! The mother to Alito apparently is "collateral damage, a mere vessel. And never mind that the "child" he refers to can be just a cell ball, or have an anomaly that will ensure death before or soon after birth. He consistently parrots anti-abortion activists in his choice of words. And decisions! Yeah, Operation: Post Roe sounds like a challenging and fun game all right (NOT). That's why lawyers and judges should never be allowed to practice medicine.
Opinion | Congrats on buying Operation: Post-Roe! Here are the board game FAQs.

On Friday, Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry signed a new bill that will affect the lives of every woman and girl in our beloved state. In a vote of 29-7, lawmakers voted to make Mifeprestone and Misoprostol, the two drugs administered for medical abortion, a controlled substance. Louisiana is now the first state in the nation to criminalize the right to safe and private reproductive health. What does this mean for women and girls of color in the South? It means that throughout the region our rights are under attack: from the doctor’s office to the ballot box. Unfortunately, many bad policies are first born here. In 1865 W.E.B. Dubois wrote, "As the South goes, there goes the nation.” His statement rings true to this very day. The systemic inequalities experienced by communities of color across the nation are felt most deeply in the South, as well as legislation and policy that reinforces it. In 2024, it is imperative that we advocate and support the work of organizations filling in the gaps and standing up for change. WFS and our partner network are sounding the clarion call for us all to pay attention to the sweeping policies that are being advanced in Southern states that threaten the health and security of women. Healthcare should not be criminalized. Your advocacy and philanthropic giving is necessary to create change and protect our rights across the country. #WFS #ReproductiveJustice #Change #Advocacy #HealthcareIsNotACrime #ShiftTheSouth https://lnkd.in/gci6WHzs

Women aren’t livestock. Any man who is 100% against abortion needs to 100% get a vasectomy. Hell, if we’re really trying to eliminate abortion, how about a government mandate on vasectomies at birth: - They’re reversible! - They’re minimally invasive! - No hormone adjustments needed! - Recovery time is negligible with a bag of frozen peas! Oh, that sounds like massive government overreach? Forcing men to undergo a medical procedure against their will and prosecuting anyone who doesn’t comply with attempts to regulate their *internal organs*? Serena Williams almost died in childbirth, a woman at the literal PEAK of human fitness. Pregnancy is hard AF even when it isn’t deadly (and it’s still far too deadly). Find another issue to put all your energy behind. Foster care would be a great start. Prison reform that treats inmates like humans. Infrastructure and climate resiliency. There are many ways to save lives. Stop punishing women because it’s more convenient to “save the babies!” than it is to help the adults and children who are here right now. #FFS #ForcedBirth #NotYourBroodMare https://wapo.st/3wa4JIL

🌟 Sharing My Truth: A Glimpse into My Reproductive Journey 🌟 Writing this blog was one of the hardest things I've done, and yet, it's only a fraction of my story. With the 51st anniversary of Roe v. Wade upon us, I feel compelled to share a glimpse into my experiences as a Black woman navigating the U.S. healthcare system. From dismissive responses to life-threatening complications during childbirth, my journey exposed the harsh realities of systemic issues in healthcare. It's not just about my story; it's about the countless others facing similar struggles. I consulted with my incredible son, Jaiden, who believes in the importance of sharing our truth. Though my story is tough, it's a call to action. I want you to feel the anger I feel towards a system that failed me and countless others. The personal is political, and it's time to dismantle systems that don't serve everyone. As you read my story, let the rage move you to action. We must break these systems, advocate for change, and ensure that every individual receives fair and equitable treatment in healthcare. https://lnkd.in/e_FgP7UK Thank you for listening. 💔✊ #ReproductiveJustice #HealthcareInjustice #BreakTheSystem #RoevWade #SystemicChange #AdvocateForChange #ShareYourStory #ThePersonalIsPolitical #HealthcareEquity #MyTruth #CallToAction

Author of the book “Your Pro-Life Bottom Line” | JPII’s quote, “God has assigned as a duty to every man the dignity of every woman” is my mantra. My mission is to live this in my life and to help other men live it too.
Put you pro-life beliefs into action with your time, talent and treasure. If you can’t offer your time and talent, then offer your treasure to those who can accomplish pro-life work on your behalf. Invest in them so that they can achieve more decisions for life for you. You can do that below.
What a challenging quote by Dietrich Bonhoeffer, who courageously stood up against evil. How relevant is it today in the fight against the evil of abortion? 3moThe story that also isn’t told, is the influx to the states able to provide care and the impact on wait lists for care. I live in MN, and survived an entirely preventable near death miscarriage experience last year. Couldn’t get a D&C for 6 days (most surrounding states have bans). During the wait, I miscarried and hemorrhaged at home. Could only get acces to care when an ambulance brought me in and my life was at risk. A $1200 procedure turned into a $23,000 bill. No one should support policy that makes pregnancy less safe, more costly, and needlessly traumatic for women.
