Choosing yourself is often the hardest decision, especially for women, but it's vital. It can be challenging AF and may even feel selfish, but the reality is that self-care is the foundation for showing up fully in life. Helping businesses be workplace wellbeing conscious. creating a positive culture, reducing absenteeism and staff turnover
I am looking to change the lives of 10 wonderful women who currently feel unhappy and unhealthy. - You see when we it feels like things never go right for us, we feel disconnected from the world around us, but also from ourselves and finding a way forward from that by yourself can seem like a huge task. - When were in this 'rut' our thoughts and feelings not just for ourselves, but for everything around us are usually very negative. - And it's a viscous cycle of negativity once this starts - Negativity breeds negativity. - What we think about, we bring about - BUT..... - We have the power to change our story. - We must change our thoughts first. - New FRIVE programme starting soon. - My very last programme of it's kind. - DM 'FRIVE' for details. - #thrive #lifeshaper #confidence #selfesteem #personalsuccess #selflove #personaldevelopment

I saw this today and couldn't help but share some thoughts on this... This whole message of "having it all" drives me bonkers. Not only because it's just an all out lie... but it creates this unrealistic ideal that puts all of us in this state of feeling like we are just not cutting it... we're not doing enough, not being enough, not achieving enough, burning ourselves out on the hamster wheel of life constantly in this state of "not enough". That the proverbial "all" is just out of reach. Except... no one really focuses on the glaring gap in this ideal that's been presented... what actually does "All" mean? What is enough? Here's the shocking reality that it's taken me 30 years to figure out... I WILL NEVER HAVE IT ALL (enter shock, horror and sadness) In fact, neither will you... and oh, btw... neither will that guy in the ads who looks like he currently "has it all". It's not a gender thing... hell it's not even tied to whether you got good grades or have incredibly perfect teeth or somehow were born into a wealthy family with every opportunity at your feet. IT IS A LIE - And we need to stop buying into it. So I propose a whole new idea... What if, instead of focusing on this unachievable ideal of "having it all", we focus on taking that energy we waste in the hamster wheel and we find what it is we really and truly want in our lives? The things that really align with who we are and the experiences that bring the most enrichment to our lives? See, that is a beautiful truth about this life we have... is that every single one of us is unique and has unique gifts, strengths, likes and dislikes, things that call to us and things that don't. I propose that we give up on trying to have it all and identify the things that bring the most meaning to our lives and focus on those. No matter what we choose, we will be sacrificing something else to have it. That is the reality no matter who you are... what your gender is, whether you a star in high school, whether you were the straight A student, whether you are a career person or manage a household full time. And here's the thing, it's not like you can't have more than one thing in your life... You can... and finding that balance of how to manage the multiple things is a challenge that every single one of us have to figure out... and let me tell you from personal experience, I am certainly not the poster child for having this figured out. But then again... even that is an experience that has taught me something about myself and about thing thing called life. The best thing about this? There is no "right" answer... it's going to look different for every single one of us. Instead of wasting all of our energy on the ideal portrayed in this video and the message of "Having it all", I reject that and choose the things that bring the most meaning to my life. How about you?
𝗖𝗮𝗻 𝘄𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻 "𝗛𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝘁 𝗔𝗹𝗹"? A question that is never addressed to men. A question that defines "All" with a narrow societal definition of 🌟 a successful career, 🌟 a loving partner, 🌟 adorable children, and 🌟 a stellar appearance with a smoking body despite giving birth to the children. A question that equates "𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝗹" = "𝗮 𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗳𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲" If ‘having it all’ refers to a woman’s happiness and well-being, then why can’t a single woman, a single mother, a child-free woman, or a homemaker be seen as having it all? So, for all the women reading this, chances are you already have it all but even if you feel you don’t, make sure that you define it for yourself rather than letting society do it for you. 📽️ from the amazing IG: Paulima #havingitall #doingitall #lifehasseasons
