Agent Brander Coming in to give you some deets Is it possible to overbrand? Absolutely! I have so many current clients that want re-branding not just once but two and three times a year. I do not advise this. Even at Major Label levels executives will call me in to brand A list, high volume artists. My question to them during our round table discussion is why? Even if purchase points drop, analytics drop, views... downloads etc. it is still important to cultivate the brand already in place. Yes! I can always be assured if I am working on a project and could not get to an A lister on our roster, designers will come in a usually overshoot design leaving the artists uncomfortable and fans confused. Red Carpet events are notorious for these types of flops. As a #Brandingspecialist I will then be incharge of cleanup duty. This requires many degrees of jumping through hoops like gaining back strong analytics, strick rehearsal of rebrand value, attaining fan trust, rebuilding artist confidence, appropriate marketing outreach and then overseeing for at least one year the sponsorships, designers, makeup artists, hair as well as opportunities within interviews, song placements, music video direction.... the list goes on even down to where the artists music gets plugged in and what their show placement schedule should look like. Because I wear many hats within the industry I can see the value of consistency and pull back on oversaturation. Please take special note to the word oversaturate. If you are wondering why I focus so much of my time on talking about shoot production, it's because I know from experience how crucial it is to plan and execute a shoot successfully. Photoshoots are a significant financial and time investment for any business, and creating beautiful photographic assets is vital for any brand striving to create an emotional connection with its audience. So what value does an experienced production manager add? 1 - Pre-production Planning: ✔️Budget Management: Creating and managing the production budget, ensuring that costs are kept within the allocated amount. ✔️Scheduling: Developing a detailed shooting schedule, coordinating with photographers, equipment, models and parents to ensure everyone is aligned. ✔️Resource Allocation: Securing locations, equipment, and necessary permits. Arranging for transportation, accommodation, and catering for the models, parents and crew. ✔️Hiring: Recruiting and managing the crew, including photographers, lighting specialists, stylists and hair and makeup assistants. ✔️Logistics Coordination: Organising the transportation of equipment and personnel to shooting locations. 2 - On-set Management: ✔️Daily Operations: Overseeing the day-to-day operations on set, ensuring the shooting schedule is adhered to and resolving any issues that arise. ✔️Coordination: Acting as the point of contact between different departments (e.g., camera, lighting, sound) to ensure smooth communication and workflow. ✔️Problem-solving: Addressing and troubleshooting any logistical or technical issues that occur during the shoot to minimise disruptions. 3 - Post-production: ✔️Wrap-up: Ensuring that all equipment is returned, locations are restored to their original condition, and any outstanding payments are settled. ✔️Reporting: Compiling reports on the production’s expenses and any deviations from the budget or schedule. Came across one of my images used this morning in a post. It wasn't that it was a portrait I had taken but of the fact the company had chosen to use such a relaxed (and my favourite) image to announce Martin Hodges new position. It isn't a regular kind of head and shoulders against a blank wall, the opposite. It is a very open, gentle and warm professional image. It told me so much not just about Martin and his friendly approachable personality, but gave me a really good feel for the company. Visual communication continues to dominate. It’s the first thing people notice and it can significantly impact their perception of you and the business you work for. Making the right first impression is Simply key. With headshots and personal branding imagery it doesn't have to be all singing, all dancing, lights, makeup and wind machines. Let's remove that and get to the nub of it all. It is all about the story you are looking to tell. Quite Simply making a visual first impression doesn't have to be complicated, as a client said to me this morning it just has to be about quality - more Marks and Spencer than Tesco. I Simply agree.
