"You guys made me feel like I was being interviewed for an exam." That was a light remark from a prospect after a discovery session with two of our team members, lol. I had to explain that one thing we watch out for at Brandoxel is not just the profit we make from a deal but how well we can help a client. And that explains why we go through some series of questioning to understand the level a prospect's business is and see if the service they are requesting is really what they need at the moment. Most business owners sincerely find it difficult to distinguish their brand needs (what they really need) from wants (what they think they need). After our session with this dear prospect yesterday, we found out that we couldn't work with him at the moment despite his willingness to engage our services. We offered some professional advice and showed him the areas in his brand he should pay attention to before engaging in the volume of service he needed from us. As the Arizona dust settles and the jet lag starts to pass I’ve taken some time to reflect on an amazing Certinia Revenue kick off( RKO)25 last week in Scottsdale Arizona. As an employee at a global digital transformation consultancy in the post Covid age, I cannot underestimate the importance of coming together with colleagues, peers and partners at a face to face event, and am truly thankful for the opportunity and the experience. As a veteran of these events( i think this was no 12 in one guise or another), it was refreshing to come away with a clear defined view of Certinia’s approach and upward trajectory and renewed enthusiasm for the partnership and our role within that. Yesterday, I got into a serious discussion on our way forward for the company tapping into the healthcare services industry. . Further to the MOU we signed last month, we talked about the next potential collaborations that both Cilesto Media and Mafar Studio can embark on. . Then we were discussing about the topic on growth of the business, in which I do have my own thought about slowing down certain things as I do believe rushing into things, especially drastic growth in revenue, fast expansion of team and significant increment in the number of clients we serve is not the thing I am so keen on at the present moment. It’s not a priority. . I would rather build up the company slowly and steadily, no rush, just take it one at a time. . We aim BIG, we dream BIG, YES and no doubt! But not all opportunities we got at that very moment need to be taking on seriously. . It’s an AND statement… A few years back a leader shared this phrase with me as part of our work to build a high functioning team with a growth mindset. Just like in Improv, starting with Yes and…allows us to continue the dialogue and see where the thread takes us. When we say “Yes and” we acknowledge the truth within and build on with other points of view. This was the thought I had when I read this article from Moe Alsumidaie. As someone who built multiple teams dedicated to data driven decision making as part of site selection, YES I agree that sponsors should leverage internal and external data to assess potential sites for participation in a trial. AND sponsors should acknowledge that algorithms don’t account for site interest, motivation, or resource capacity. Site selection is evolving from something sponsors and CROs do TO sites to a more transparent and collaborative process where sponsors engage WITH sites.
