Enjoyed speaking with Tim Feran at Columbus Monthly Magazine about JPMorganChase and Morgan Health's commitment to expanding access to primary and preventive care in Columbus, Ohio. Decades of research has shown that connecting patients to these services creates better outcomes, while also driving meaningful downstream cost savings for employers (in the form of fewer ER visits, hospitalizations and a reduced chronic disease burden). These are exactly the types of results we’re seeking to achieve in Columbus for our 35,000 insured employees and their dependents. As the article details, our employees enrolled in the medical plan can schedule an on-site visit at no cost and have broad access to integrated health services, including chronic disease and mental health support. We’re prioritizing a whole health approach to care – and want to ensure that our employees know exactly where to turn for the right intervention or treatment. Two of our employees, Claire Esslinger and Holly Futach, recap their experiences with the Columbus care team – highlighting the ease, convenience and comprehensiveness of the services available right within the workplace. Primary care isn’t a new thing, but we believe that by reducing the traditional barriers to care (mainly cost and time), we can improve employer-sponsored healthcare. Check out the article below and share your thoughts. https://lnkd.in/gd-reRsk

Main takeaways: - We live in an era where healthcare accessibility has reached unprecedented levels. - Exercise is the most accessible form of medicine - free, effective, and readily available. - We spend more time treating an increasingly unhealthy population years down the line, after disease has set in, instead of investing in preventative solutions. - It's time for a paradigm shift among healthcare professionals and individuals to embrace exercise a fundamental prescription. Milliman LARA® can be part of the solution of building and evaluating a sustainable program.
Jeff Anderson and I have had the opportunity to work with clients and participate in summits and educational sessions on the topic of LTC wellness over the past 4 years. We then rounded that out by using my experience in value-based care, interviews with our Milliman colleagues on wellness and effectiveness studies across the healthcare industry, and performed additional research. We took everything that we learned and put it in this paper. We are excited to share it and we can wait to hear your thoughts. #ltc #longtermcare #wellness
