When do you need to hire a Sales Manager?

Years ago I accepted a sales role in a firm and upon resumption I realize they've sacked 3 sales staff in the past 1year in that particular territory I was assigned. The issue with the territory is they have unrealistic expectations due to past experience from the territory that is not in conformity with the current reality. I knew I was already in for a long ride. The rest is history.
