Who do you think is the best candidate to lead and manage operations of a Factory? A former boss said that the best operations leader is one who has a very strong foundation in Quality Excellence. He speaks from his personal experience. And I fully agree with him. Had been through it myself. That's how to make Quality "built-in" and essential in all your operational and administrative processes.

Through meticulous guidance and insightful expertise, I empower companies to surpass their goals and unlock new realms of achievement. All opions are my own
I received a call last week from a professional I was instrumental in getting a promotion not long ago. The call was a good-natured discussion about design decisions I made at this plant concerning their expanded litho-lamination expansion. I left before the project started and in fact tried to have the project moved to a plant in FT Smith Arkansas where the plant and workforce had a more World Class mindset for Litho-Lamination and urgency. In any event the caller advised me of their dismay about the lack of upper leadership ability to change the culture at this plant that has a reputation for deficient performance. It's truly a gut punch when a highly skilled professional that you are responsible for placing tells you less rewarded by the job you helped them get. As I have stated several times leadership and leadership alone is responsible for culture and workforce wellbeing. If the workforce lacks skill that's leadership, If the plant lacks machine reliability that's leadership, If the plant lacks urgency, safety or has high turnover that is leadership. Today's workforce is changing and becoming more complex every day. The value in giving as well as expecting respect is as important as ever. The numbers, no matter how many zeros follow the first digit, mean nothing if options aren't respected and appreciation isn't shown. I can only hope that the person I placed along with the many others I helped recruit are awarded position that will help them become a wedge for change. If you want what World Class plants have or you're looking for World-Class Litho-Lamination and leadership experts' par excellence call MJM Corrugated Packaging Consultant LLC. We have the connections to experts in High-Speed Platen Die cutting, Folder gluing, Automation labeling, Asitrade operations, Asitrade technicians, Corrugated Supervisors, Finishing supervisors, Laminator Managers, Maintenance experts, Plant Managers in all phases of corrugated plant leadership From Cleveland, Ohio to Shenzhen China We know and can help to get world Class talent to you.

Gestor de Plantas Industriais/Diretor Industrial/Gerente Industrial - Buscando Novas Oportunidades!!!!!
THE GREAT LESSON LEARNED FROM MR. FORD I am a Plant Director Manager with over 30 years' experience in building High Performance Teams. Although I am a "Senior Manager", I am highly up-to-date and engaged with new plant and people management techniques and very familiar with the latest quality, management and administration tools, as well as highly motivated and with a lot of energy and willingness to work and accomplish with results. Today I see with concern how Recruiters, Headhunters and companies search and hire Managers. I'll quote an example of Mr. Ford. Ford needs a manager for Ford plant and Mr. Ford based his decision not only on qualifications, but on how his individual values of the candidates aligned with Ford's values, and of course this would only be possible through personal contact. Ford then invited the two candidates to an informal dinner, both of whom had graduated from the same university, had the same management experience and were both well qualified for the open position. During dinner, they talked a lot and after finishing dinner, they went for a walk and Mr. Ford said to one of the candidates: "You're hired" and said to the other: "We won't continue with you". Said the unsuccessful candidate......Mr. Ford, can I ask you something? We don't talk about engineering, cars, training and so on; we just talk about things in general? Yes, said Ford, for two reasons I chose your friend: The first is that your friend tried the steak and then put salt on it, you put salt on it and then tried your steak. "I like people who try things before they make changes." The second is the most important: Your friend was polite to everyone at the table, saying thank you and please, for you, everyone who served us was invisible, you were only polite when you addressed me. That's why I decided on your friend, a great "Manager," someone I want to have in my organization managing my team, "you don't have to see hierarchy, you have to see human beings first"

Plant vs. Corporate: Two Unique Worlds ⚙️🏭 After spending time in both environments, I have realized the perks of working in plants. Here's why: In a plant, I solve real problems and see the results immediately 🛠️. In corporate, it feels like decisions take longer to show impact. Hands-on operations experience has given me a deeper understanding of the entire supply chain 📦, something you just can’t get from behind a desk. Working directly with machines and processes means I’m constantly sharpening my technical skills 🔧, compared to corporate, where it’s often more about meetings and reports. The leadership opportunities are real—managing teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment keeps me energized 🚀. Corporate felt more structured but less thrilling. Plus, being on the frontline of Lean and Kaizen initiatives means I’m driving continuous improvement where it counts 💡. Plant work lets me see the impact of my decisions right away and offers more chances to lead, grow, and make a difference. Both sides offer valuable experiences, and it ultimately depends on where you feel most aligned—hands-on operations or strategic oversight. What’s your preference? 💬👇 #Manufacturing #Operations #Leadership #CareerGrowth #SupplyChain #LeanManufacturing #ContinuousImprovement #Teamwork

Are you struggling to get quality products and on time at the door? Maybe you have missed deadlines, or you are going through a high number of safety hazards and accidents. As a manager or in any leadership role, those pain points ring some bells; they do to me. I had to work more on myself first to serve my team effectively. Sometimes motivation decays on the team, and that's when discipline kicks in, keeping systems and operations effective. Your commitment to discipline sets the standard for your team. You have to hold yourself accountable for the results. You've got to expand your vision beyond a shift, a week, a month, or a quarter; you've got to set it further, this is for the long run. Lead by example, prioritize consistent actions, foster an environment where everyone thrives, where everyone is accountable and empowered to take ownership. Discipline is a constant search for improvement and excellence. Set your strategic plan and follow it with discipline. I have experience in improving processes that impact several Key Performance Indicators, with a proven record in the automotive and metal mechanic industries. I´m ready to collaborate. Lean Manufacturing Consultant helping companies improve Profits & Productivity and reduce Cost through Lean and Operational Excellence initiatives (Kaizen, SMED, PokaYoke, Continuous Flow, etc) using Gamification
In many companies, the shopfloor incharges / Supervisors are primarily focused on achieving the Production Targets for the day. A lot of firefighting happens during their work and they always complain that they do not have any time for improvements. Why does this happen? Supervisors / Incharges are not Planning their work properly. Improper planning leads to a lot of surprises for the day, which leads to a lot of communication gaps resulting in firefighting. How to fix this? Proper Planning fixes this issue. We can also call this Daily Work Management. Train the Supervisors to list down the core activities for the day and ask them to write those in a whiteboard in their workplace. If they want to delegate some activities, it has to be written in the board. Employees in the zone can see the board and take necessary actions. A supervisor can effectively manage a shopfloor by spending 2~3 hours per shift. Routine work like documentation can be done in 1~2 hours. Remaining time can be spent on Improvement Activities (~3 hours). What do you think? Is it possible? Please let me know in comments.
