Should general contractors build a crew or hire subs? In my opinion, subs are a more intelligent choice Part of this is selfish; employees increased my stress level, and I did not need any more stress. My mindset was different when I hired subs for everything. Subs can be challenging to manage, that's true, but employees have their own management issues. Along with benefits, HR issues, payroll, and WC insurance. Subs are focused on their niche and get really good at their trade. To grow, I find more subs or help them grow with me. Bad sub? Don't hire them again; find a new one. Hiring and firing are expensive and can be legally complicated. I prefer to hire good managers; they manage subs, not the crew. I have gone as far as hiring out my project management to 1099 contractors by the job. Which do you prefer and why? #businessblueprint

How Can I Master Employee Relations to Boost My HR Career? Answers: https://lnkd.in/e3evCxMJ #EmployeeRelations #HR #CareerGrowth Hey Everyone, I hope you’re all doing well! 😊 I wanted to take a moment to share where I’m at in my HR journey and seek some advice from this amazing community. I’ve been working as an HR administrator for a marketing company for about 1 year and 8 months, and I’m currently managing full-cycle recruitment, benefits administration, onboarding, warehouse management, and payroll. It’s been a great experience, but I’m starting to think about how I can expand my skill set, especially in the area of employee relations (ER). Recently, I’ve noticed that many job postings I’m looking at are asking about ER experience. The reality is, I haven’t had the chance to dive into that aspect yet, as my manager has been handling it. I often feel more tactical in my role rather than strategic, which makes me wonder how to bridge that gap. 😅 Here are some of the challenges I've encountered: Limited experience in ER: Since I haven't been involved in employee relations, it’s tough when future roles ask about it. Confrontation anxiety: I some...

Vacation Rental Maven with Juniper Holiday + Home - Your short-term vacation rental and property management company | Published Author | Transcendental Meditation Enthusiast
I’ve been thinking outside of the box lately, when it comes to working with top talent – and I’ve come to realize: sometimes creative solutions are indeed the answer! Here’s what I mean: I’ve been working with an HR professional who is absolutely incredible. She is great at what she does, but the reality is, our current need is for a part-time HR pro - not full-time. However, this person needs full-time benefits - so as an employer, I’ve been trying to figure out the best solution, so I can still work with her and create a win-win for both of us. The solution: splitting her time with Juniper Holiday + Home and with another company. That is, I will cover her benefits, but her salary will be shared between Juniper and a second company. Win-win! We get to work with her, she gets benefits, and another company also has the absolute pleasure of getting a top-tier HR person for a fraction of the cost. Have you ever worked with a split-time employee? I’m thinking this is a unique solution, but who knows, maybe not! And/or if you are looking for a part-time five-star HR employee, would love to talk! #hr #hiring #vacationrentals #vrm #founders

Service Spotlight: Human Resources. But first, let's talk about me, my favorite topic. My first corporate career was as a Human Resource Assistant in Harbor East, Baltimore, Maryland. I remember when the lot that now holds a hotel, gym, and offices was empty, and we would park in the gravel and walk across the street. I drove through that area recently, and I'm impressed by its development and attractiveness. While I'm no longer in HR, I find that our HR consultants are approachable, skilled, and considerate, with many years of progressive HR experience, especially for start-ups. Outsourcing HR responsibilities is your best option for several reasons, especially for smaller companies that don't need full-time support but want someone available. 1. Paying a full-time person for a part-time job is not cost-effective. 2. Making HR decisions based on advice from your "friends" will land you in trouble. Trust me on this! 3. Pay for what you need! Why bring on a full-time expert and then worry about trying to keep them busy? 4. Yes, handbooks are important. They protect your company and employees. We can build one for you and discuss total compensation packets, benefits, and other tactics to stay marketable to candidates. 5. Administrative work is time-consuming. We have HR administrators at a fair rate who can take onboarding, payroll, benefits enrollment, and other paperwork or reports off your plate completely. 6. Do you need new benefits? We can compare costs with brokers and help you make the right decision. 7. We can get startup companies going with a payroll system, benefits, policies, or insurances in a few weeks. 8. Terminations can be uncomfortable and require proper documentation. We can create performance plans and severance agreements and conduct investigations. Want to find out if HR outsourcing is right for your company? Send me a message! #humanresources #HR #oursource #businesssolutions #power3
