In the last 3 years, UNFILTERED WITH KIRAN has become a go-to trusted news source for the people of Southern Louisiana. Through honest and dedicated reporting, Kiran and her team have amassed a vast and loyal base of followers. Over the last several months, I’ve had the distinct pleasure of partnering with Kiran Chawla and her team as we reimagined what the Unfiltered with Kiran website could be. We worked together to strategically design and develop a new website that would bring a better overall experience and create a destination for folks to find the news in their local communities. A few of the highlights I am particularly keen on: 📲 Integrated Vertical Video Player: We created a direct connection to the Unfiltered with Kiran YouTube channel, ensuring that all of the latest news and videos makes it to the homepage right away. 📍 Interactive Location Map & Filtering: Local news matters so much and providing an intuitive UX for users to discover what's going on in their area is so important. We built a custom interactive map that allows users to get to the news in their area with a single click. 📈 Massive performance improvements: We were able to drop website load times from 4.5 seconds to 1.7 seconds which is a 62% improvement. MASSIVELY important for any website, but especially so for news websites. We're incredibly proud of the way this website has turned out and we're so excited to see it fuel continued growth for the whole team at UWK. So we were kind of a capacity with where we are. We needed a website where we could showcase and tell more of the stories that we were working on, and we needed a better platform. To be quite frank, we wanted the website to be a destination for people. We talked to so many people about what they wanted and what was missing from the news websites they were going to, whether it be national or local. And we kind of took all that information. And I think we we found a sweet spot, if you will, of, of what people are looking for. We wanted it to be a place where they could go as and get the news. They wanted to to be informed, to know what was going on, but to also feel good about themselves. And we feel like this website. Really captures that now it's about vertical video and think TikTok and Instagram and all these things. So we wanted the platform to kind of showcase that times are changing and we're trying to make this as user friendly. Not only user friendly, but we also want it to be where you, the public desire to go to it. You don't need to go through an entire news website. You just go to Ascension Parish, Assumption W Baton Rouge, you click on it every story that's happening in your. Area is right there. I think when you come to the new website, you're gonna be pretty amazed at what's there. I think it's going to be a platform in a community for a lot of people.
