For many academics, this week marks the return of students and the beginning of a busy first semester. We thus are continuing to support everyone in academia through our #EveryLittleActionCounts campaign. Week #24 is a call to follow your passions! Being passionate about what we are doing is critical for finding meaning and purpose in our academic profession. By following our passions, we can foster a deep connection with our endeavours and thus inspire and empower others. “Passion is energy. Feel the power that comes from focusing on what excites you.” – Oprah Winfrey   We can become more passionate about what we are doing by: 🌞Listening to our heart and soul: Find time to reflect on what matters most to you and create self-awareness of the extent to which you follow your passions. 🌞Trying out and integrating new things: If you don’t know your passions, make a list of new things, try them out and capture your experiences in a journal.   🌞Being resilient – never giving up: Following your passions is not always an easy task, it requires you to keep going even then when you feel alone and different. What we do is we, we go through a school year. We survive. We say who, okay, I'm glad that's over. We do all this stuff in the summer, only to repeat the same mistakes, only to face the same problems, only to to keep banging our heads against the same wall. How long are we going to do that? Each face in this frame holds a story, a journey of growth, and a testament to the incredible power of education and human connection. In a world filled with chaos and uncertainty, it's moments like these that remind me of the profound impact we have as educators. Beyond the curriculum, beyond the tests and grades, lies the essence of our mission: to inspire, to empower, and to guide the next generation towards a brighter future. These bright young minds taught me as much as I taught them. They taught me resilience in the face of challenges, curiosity in the pursuit of knowledge, and above all, the boundless potential that resides within each and every one of us.
