What you say and what people understand is not always the same. The opposite is true too! What we perceive and what the other person intends isn’t necessarily accurate. Matt Ley calls this bridging the intention-perception. Strengthening our listening skills is vital to avoid misunderstandings that can hinder relationships and organizational effectiveness. Make sure to check for understanding and ask questions for clarification. #Communication #ListeningSkills #LeadershipDevelopment

Communication gets a lot easier if both sides know why they are communicating. If you don’t tell the other side why you are reaching out they could make up there own reasons in their head and you both end up never meeting anywhere fruitful, or worse one or both sides get annoyed. 💪🏼✨🌿 - - - #selfleadership #communicationtips #communicationskills #communicationstrategy #conflictresolution #consciousleadership

🌞 The Art of Clear Communication 🌞 Ever think you've nailed giving clear instructions, only to realise something got lost in translation? It was highlighted to me when I told my 3-year-old daughter to put on a hat before heading out in the summer sun. She did exactly as she was told... and put on her winter hat! ❄️👒 She’s dressed in her summer dress and sandals, with a cozy winter hat to top it off. It was a great reminder that even when we think we're being perfectly clear, our message can still be misinterpreted. In the business world, clear communication is key, but it's just as important to ensure the message is received as intended. Here's a thought for my LinkedIn network: Let's double-check our instructions/requests and make sure we're all on the same page. It could save us from some "winter hat" moments! 😂 #ClearCommunication #Leadership #FunnyMoments #ParentingLife #EffectiveCommunication #CommunicationMatters

Please join me in rejecting these forms of preposition abuse: → Let's have a conversation AROUND [topic] → We want to solve FOR [problem] → We need you ACROSS [that project] → Lean INTO [a challenge] Can you think of others? Workplace speak is full of them! Repost immediately for awareness. #jargon #workplace #teambuilding #collaboration #communication #buzzwords #styletips #englishlanguage #marketing #leadership

Public Speaking Confidence Expert | Transforming Fearful Professionals into Confident Speakers | Empowering Professionals to Unlock Career Growth Through Confident Communication
Have you ever walked away from a presentation replaying what you didn't say? You're in good company. Here's a comforting thought: your audience doesn't know what you planned to say. If you didn't mention it, in their world, it never existed. And here's something to consider: those unsaid words often are less crucial than we think. How about we celebrate the insights you shared and the things you did say? Shifting your attention from what was missed to what was achieved isn't just a kinder approach—it actually boosts your confidence for the next time you're speaking in public. It's about connecting, not perfection. Next time you're up there, remember that your words' impact counts, not the bits you skipped. Here's to celebrating every speaking achievement, no matter how small. After all, the effect of your words leaves a mark, not the ones you left unsaid. 🎉 #leadership #publicspeaking #career #london #leadershipcommunication

"The Power of Confidence and Consistency" I've always believed that effective communication is about more than just speaking. It's about having the courage to share your thoughts and the confidence to back them up. In my previous role, I was often praised for my bold and direct communication style. I attribute this to a combination of confidence and a deep understanding of the subject matter. However, when I transitioned to a new organization, I found myself facing a different perception. People assumed I was quiet or introverted because I preferred to listen and observe before speaking. This was a deliberate strategy to understand the company culture, technology, and communication styles. It's important to remember that people perceive us based on their own biases and experiences. But only we know the true reasons behind our actions. Staying true to ourselves and maintaining consistency in our communication style is crucial, regardless of the environment or expectations. #communication #confidence #consistency #personalbranding #careeradvice #leadership #workculture #professionaldevelopment
