Why the App Store Will Reject Your App 😈 🤥 The App Store could be a perfect face-control dude at the luxury club entrance. You cannot fool him with a fake ID; acquaintances do not matter to him, even if you know the owner. But, seriously, it is the strictest platform for posting apps. The review process takes longer and is stricter than that of Google Play for example. So keep in mind the following aspects to successfully pass the verification process: 👹 Absence of User Agreement Link This link must reside both within the app and prominently displayed on the store page. If the link redirects to the company's website, the agreement must be easily accessible there, and it must work! 👺 Data Privacy Concerns Apps that interact with user data must handle it with utmost care. Any transfer of data to third parties, especially in scenarios like controlling other mobile devices or collecting health-related information, is a major red flag. 🐞 Bugs Performance issues are a definite deal-breaker. An app plagued by a sluggish interface, lengthy loading times, frequent crashes, or login failures stands little chance of passing the quality check. 📐 Crafting UI in Harmony with Guidelines The Human Interface Guidelines serve as the bible for app design on iOS. Deviating from these guidelines can lead to rejection. The UI should be intuitive, user-friendly, and visually cohesive. 👾 Justifiable Access Requests Requesting access to device features must be justified and essential for app functionality. Users should be informed transparently about why their data or device functions are required, with the option to provide or withhold consent! 👯♀️ Guarding User Data Unauthorized access to user data is strictly prohibited. Apps aiming to collect data for advertising or other purposes must seek explicit user permission. 👨💻 Adhering to Apple's Ecosystem Apple's ecosystem comes with specific rules, including restrictions on altering system functions and using FaceID recognition. 📝 Comprehensive App Description Misleading information or incomplete details can result in rejection. Every aspect of the app, from functionalities to updates, must be accurately portrayed to avoid any misinterpretation. 🔞 Age-Appropriate Content Even if an app isn't targeted at a younger audience, all content on the store page must be suitable for audiences aged 4 and above.

Here's a guide on optimizing your app for Android 13's new privacy features: Understanding the Key Changes: Photo Picker: Users can now grant granular permissions to access specific photos and videos instead of your entire media library. Notification Permission: Apps now require runtime permission to display notifications, giving users more control over what notifications they see. NEARBY_DEVICES Permission Changes: Reduced apps requiring this permission for basic functionality. Optimizing for the Photo Picker: Implement the new Photo Picker API: Transition from traditional storage access to using the Photo Picker API. This allows users to select specific photos or videos your app needs. Provide a Clear Use Case: Clearly explain why your app needs access to photos or videos within the permission request context and within your app's interface. Minimize Data Collection: Only request access to the specific photos or videos necessary for your app's functionality. Optimizing for Notification Permission: Prioritize High-Value Notifications: Focus on sending only essential and valuable notifications that enhance the user experience. Don't bombard users with irrelevant notifications. Provide Clear Notification Categories: If your app offers different notification categories, allow users to choose which ones they want to receive. Respect User Preferences: Dynamically adjust notification behavior based on user preferences. General Best Practices: Target Android 13 (API level 33): Target the latest Android 13 SDK in your app development process to ensure compatibility and access to new features. Test Thoroughly: Rigorously test your app on Android 13 devices to identify and address any compatibility issues or unexpected behaviors related to the new privacy features. Transparent Communication: Keep your users informed about how your app collects and uses data. Update your privacy policy to reflect any changes related to Android 13 permissions.

The Rise of PWAs📈 & Why Major App Stores Are fighting against it👿? - What are PWAs? A PWA(Progressive Web App) is a type of application software delivered through the web, built using common web technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript & can be added to home screen like traditional app store application. -Advantages of PWAs 1. Cross-Platform Compatibility📱: PWAs work seamlessly across different devices and operating systems. 2. Offline Functionality🛜: They can load icons and fonts like traditional app without an internet connection using cached data. 3. No Need for App Stores🛍️: Users can install PWAs directly from the browser, bypassing app stores. 4. Automatic Updates✅: PWAs are always up-to-date without requiring manual updates as soon as website get updated 5. Reduced Development Costs💰: A single PWA can work on multiple platforms, saving time and resources for developers. -Why Google and Apple Aren’t Thrilled? 1. Revenue Loss💰: App stores generate significant revenue through app sales and in-app purchases. PWAs bypass these stores, potentially reducing this income stream. 2. Control Over Ecosystem🫳: App stores allow Google and Apple to control the quality and security of apps. PWAs, being directly accessible, can circumvent this control. 3. Data and Analytics📊: App stores provide valuable data about user behavior, preferences, and app performance. PWAs can limit the data tech giants can collect. - Apple Tried to ban PWA The European Commission alleges that Apple imposes technical restrictions through its iOS operating system, preventing developers from distributing their PWAs via the App Store if they also provide standalone versions of those same apps. These limitations could potentially stifle innovation and limit consumer choice, thereby harming both developers and consumers alike.

Apple rejected 1,679,694 App Store submissions in 2022. According to a transparency report: https://lnkd.in/e73C3g4g Here are the top reasons apps get rejected: Unclear or Inaccurate Information The App Store review team wants to know precisely what your app does. Ensure that the description, metadata, and screenshots accurately reflect its functionality. Avoid using vague words or images that might be misleading. For example, if your app is a task manager, clearly explain its functions: "Efficient task manager with date reminders" is better than "Productivity app for maximum efficiency." App Crashes and Obvious Errors Apple isn't fond of apps with serious bugs or ones that simply don't work. So before submitting your app for review, make sure it doesn't crash or perform poorly. If it fails during testing, fix these issues first. Low Performance No matter how cool your app seems or how much fun it offers, Apple wants it to work really well. If your app runs slowly, is buggy, or takes a long time to load, it might not be successful. Remember that issues like non-functional links, buttons that don't work, or even appearance problems can lead to rejection. Make sure everything works! Lack of Data Privacy Declaration A data privacy statement explains how your app collects and protects user data and clarifies the purposes for which this data is used. For example, if you use location services in your app, you should thoroughly justify why your app needs access. Simply saying "Provide access to geolocation" won't suffice. Missing "Delete Account" Button Users should be able to easily delete their accounts. Just add a "Delete Account" button in the settings. #ScalablePathDevTeam #AppRejection
