As a sleep apnea clinician, over the last few years the most common question I hear are mask leakage and mouth opening. A few things can be happening to cause this. ▪️1. Is this mask the correct style and fit? ▫️2. Has your mask been recently replaced? Think of your mask like your cars air filter. You breath through your mask and tubing each and every night for multiple hours allowing moisture to collect and harbour bacteria. By replacing your mask regularly, you are eliminating risks of bacteria growth and ensure a better seal to optimize your therapy!
