The future is already here
Filmmaker + Co-Founder at Promise (featured in The Wall Street Journal, Variety, The Hollywood Reporter, Indiewire, Forbes)
This is me literally after my phone blew up at the news of James Cameron joining the board of directors Stability AI It couldn’t be more timely as I was finishing up my closing remarks at the Picture This conference in Copenhagen on what the future holds for those bold enough to dive into the world of Generative AI filmmaking. For all the doubters, for all the vitriol I myself and countless others have received on social. I’m here to tell you that it’s water under the bridge. This is an olive branch to invite you to reach out and engage with us in a positive manner. Many of us have been pioneering this space for years on the front lines so to speak. So as this becomes more widely accepted I want to shout out all of my friends and colleagues who stuck through the bull shit. Good times are ahead. Cheers.

Human creativity 1 AI 0 🤖🎬🚫 This week witnessed a victory for creatives in the heart of London. The Prince Charles Cinema, a linchpin in the indie film scene, took a bold stand. In response to a public outcry, it cancelled the debut of 'The Last Screenwriter', a film scripted by AI, set for June 23. This raised crucial questions about AI's role in the arts. What does this shift mean for creativity? It's a dialogue about technology complementing art, not supplanting it. The message is clear: creators may face challenges, but they're not obsolete. This is not the end; it's a continuation of the narrative of human ingenuity. At MeeTV, we champion this spirit. We're creating a fortress for originality where creators can speak up and shield their work. It's crucial now more than ever to unite. It’s time to drive the narrative that creativity is irreplaceable. Become part of a community that values human touch in art. Let's join forces, support the preservation human creativity, and keep the essence of storytelling alive. #CreativityOverAI #Filmmaking #SupportIndieFilm #MeeTV

𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. #cinema #ai AI: African Intelligence. 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗮 𝗗𝗶𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗮’s latest essay film, AI: African Intelligence, explores the contact zones between African rituals of possession within traditional fishing villages of the Atlantic coast of Senegal and the emergence of new technological frontiers known as Artificial Intelligence. Considering the confluence of tradition and modernity, Diawara questions how we could move from disembodied machines towards a more humane and spiritual control of algorithms. Could Africa be the context of emergence for such improbable algorithms? AI Filmmaking has a natural path of progression. AI Film 3:AI Film and Art Festival in Arizona this past weekend was a clear demonstration of democratization of storytelling. Entertainment resistance to AI will end. Acceptance by public will be a result of unavoidable changes. Proud to have pioneered the exposure at grassroot level. As more AI Film exposure grows they will be funded by many traditional environments. Never forget the tools are available to everyone today. Learn, grow, and let's lead the development. https://lnkd.in/gG6y-cwa

Friyay with #AlinkiLike: https://lnkd.in/dQMFrmY4 If you are interested about where we stand in #AIFilmmaking, this is a great place to spend some friday-time. The Artefact Ai Film festival celebrates short films created using generative AI tools, offering a platform for both seasoned directors and emerging talents to showcase their innovative work. Particular interesting is the gallery of finalists with a 167 of great shortfilms, all made with AI-Tools. They are all round about 5 min. and as far as I am concerned, there are some commonalities : 1) Most pieces try to stay away from a hyper realistic approach, and feature a distinct look and feel away from reality. 2) Obvious but yet surprising: All of the finalist have a strong idea about the story they want to tell and "just" used AI as a tool for storytelling. 3) Despite all the tech used, I still found it quite striking what enormous impact the craft in audio, direction and editing has on the final piece. None of which can yet be automated or outsourced to AI. I liked "Dark, Ligt, Yellow" as well as "GENERATION" a lot. Whats your favorite?
