As the hospitality industry fights for positions in our lives we all need to think about who we are and who we want to attract more than ever both as individuals and businesses Having spent more than 30 years (eek!) working in and promoting the arts and wellbeing and now being involved in running a private members club this makes an interesting read. The focus in this article is on the trend to incorporate gyms and traditional ‘health’ focus elements like breath work into the club. Personally I like having different ‘spaces’ and ‘groups’ for my different membership focusses. I want a different experience / friends at my fitness focus and connection clubs. It’s what makes life interesting. BUT it’s a major aspect of why I love what we bring and my professional role at the SAC. The ARTS ARE CRUCIAL TO OUR WELLBEING - like our Japanese Kimihumo mindful braid making class tonight - which you can do with a cup of calming tea or a mock/cocktail depending on you mood and vibe at the end of the day. Bringing wellbeing into Clubs is great but the key element for me is what makes Clubs unique - why come to our space and spend time there - at the Scottish arts Club for us it’s definitely * our love of the arts community - a vibrant, social, curious group * our good sustainable healthy local food produce * we don’t follow trends * we mix our 150 year wonderful traditional history with a contemporary focus Oh and our 4 storey Georgian townhouse stairs keeps us all super fit 🤣 …. We asked Kristen, “If I handed you an envelope with $100 in it, how would you use it to invest in your wellness?” She accepted the challenge and this is what she shared: “When I was presented with the challenge of using $100 toward my total wellness journey, I decided to use the money to help revamp my nontoxic lifestyle. It is important to me to replace my everyday products with nontoxic solutions, which can be overwhelming and take time! I used this opportunity to switch from generic household cleaning products to Branch Basics.
